Relocation No Travel Possible The Technical Trainer provides classroom and hands-on instruction to aviation maintenance personnel, ensuring maintenance activities are performed in compliance with technical manuals, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. This role develops and delivers training programs for aircraft systems, maintenance procedures, and certification requirements while supporting continuous improvement of the training and qualification process. The Technical Trainer works closely with maintenance leadership, quality, and safety teams to assess training needs, monitor effectiveness, and promote standardized, “by-the-book” maintenance practices. The ideal candidate brings strong aviation maintenance expertise, effective communication skills, and a passion for adult education.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Training Development & Delivery
• Develops, plans, and conducts technical training courses and lesson plans for assigned aircraft and maintenance systems.
• Create instructional materials, including handbooks, multimedia aids, demonstrations, and computer-based training.
• Delivers classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job training for new hires, refresher training, new equipment, and certification requirements.
• Supervises and supports personnel during practical training activities. Program Management & Compliance
• Develops Job Qualification Standards (JQS) and proficiency task lists based on job requirements.
• Tracks initial and recurring training, qualifications, licensing, and certifications.
• Maintains accurate training records in compliance with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Ensures training programs meet customer, regulatory, and contract requirements. Assessment & Continuous Improvement
• Administers tests and evaluates trainee performance and training effectiveness.
• Collects feedback from supervisors and trainees to assess program effectiveness.
• Conducts trend analysis and root cause investigations related to training deficiencies.
• Recommend and implement corrective actions and program improvements. Technical & Maintenance Support
• Provides technical guidance to maintenance personnel performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, overhaul, and modification.
• Supports compliance with applicable maintenance manuals, publications, and safety standards.
• Assists in evaluating maintenance operations and identifying areas for improvement. Coordination & Communication
• Collaborates with quality, safety, operations, contract administration, and customer representatives to assess training needs.
• Communicates training plans, progress, and results to management and customers. Revised 01/22/2026 of 3
• Submits reports and analysis to the Training Manager regarding program effectiveness. Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in aviation maintenance, including experience with aircraft systems and maintenance procedures.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in adult education, technical training, or training program development.
• At least two (2) years of experience supervising or managing personnel.
• Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft systems, maintenance manuals, technical publications, tools, test equipment, and ground support equipment.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical data, including drawings, blueprints, and maintenance instructions.
• Knowledge of Army and/or commercial aviation maintenance practices and applicable regulations.
• Understanding of adult learning principles, training methods, and instructional techniques.
• Proven ability to develop training objectives, lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and classroom instruction.
• Strong organizational, analytical, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
• Ability to work evening and/or night shifts as operationally required.
• Ability to meet all Government and Company licensing, qualification, and security clearance requirements for the position.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and follow written and oral instructions. Highly Preferred Qualifications
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in aviation, education, engineering, or a related field.
• Graduation from a recognized instructor-training course.
• Completion of formal military maintenance training (e.g., BNOC/ANOC or equivalent).
• Experience working in a production or maintenance operations environment.
• Familiarity with ISO 9000 / ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and quality tools.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and training program development.
Working Conditions and Environment:

• This classification activity is, while normally accomplished in an office environment, and does have duties that require the individual to work outside the office environment.
• Typical physical demands or activities include climbing, standing, bending, stooping, pushing, kneeling, reaching and walking.
• May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds.
• Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
• The work conditions are normally those of a standard office environment where there is little physical discomfort.
• During the performance of duties outside the office environment, the diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individuals to changes in temperature and weather.
• May be exposed to areas where high noise hazards prevail.
• May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• May be exposed to electrical shock hazards.
