Job Title: Welder
Job DescriptionThis role performs Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) on aircraft parts and assemblies, fabricating and repairing metal components to precise tolerances using stainless steel, aluminum, and other metal alloys. You will contribute to the safe and reliable performance of aircraft components by producing high-quality welds and accurate repairs.
Responsibilities
- Perform Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) on aircraft parts and assemblies in accordance with specifications and quality standards.
- Fabricate and repair metal components using stainless steel, aluminum, and various metal alloys to meet required tolerances.
- Strike and maintain welding arcs to achieve correct depth of fusion and proper bead formation.
- Inspect welds and components during and after welding to ensure accuracy, structural integrity, and compliance with requirements.
- Conduct minor repair operations, including Helicoil installation, flushing, grit blasting, and vapor degreasing.
- Repair cracks, broken parts, and fill holes in aircraft components using appropriate welding and repair techniques.
- Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment while operating welding and related equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and properly handle tools, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize work and meet production schedules.
Essential Skills- At least 1 year of welding experience.
- Hands-on experience with Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG).
- Ability to weld stainless steel and aluminum components.
- Skill in striking and maintaining welding arcs to achieve correct depth of fusion and bead formation.
- Ability to fabricate and repair metal components to precise tolerances.
- Capability to repair cracks, broken parts, and fill holes in metal components.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience working with various metal alloys in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with minor repair operations such as Helicoil installation, flushing, grit blasting, and vapor degreasing.
- Comfort working on aircraft parts or other precision components where accuracy and quality are critical.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with experienced colleagues.

Work Environment
This position is part of a 21-person department, offering a close-knit and collaborative atmosphere with significant experience to learn from. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on a first-shift only basis. The environment involves hands-on work with welding equipment, metal components, and processes such as grit blasting and vapor degreasing. The dress code is casual and practical, typically jeans, a t-shirt, and closed-toe shoes, suitable for a production and fabrication setting focused on safety and comfort.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wellington, KS.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
