Job Description:

Aviation Maintenance Instructor

Mahoning County Career & Technical Center (MCCTC) is seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic to serve as an Instructor in our FAA-certified FAR 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician School.

This is a full-time, stable teaching position in a well-established, well-enrolled program with strong administrative support, steady funding, and a fully equipped lab. This is a one-instructor program, where the instructor teaches high school students from their junior year through senior year and supports post-secondary A&P completion.

Schedule & Contract:

  • Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
  • 184-day school year contract
  • 20 extended instructional days required at a per-diem rate to meet FAA hour requirements
  • Summer break (typically July & August) and holiday breaks off

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Aviation-related degree preferred
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic Certificate
  • Minimum 5 years full-time aircraft maintenance experience
  • 2 years of recent aircraft maintenance experience
  • Ability to pass BCI & FBI background checks and pre-employment drug screening

Teaching & Licensure:

  • This is an Ohio teaching position
  • Ohio teaching license not required at hire
  • Candidate must be eligible to become licensed
  • MCCTC will assist and support the instructor through the teacher licensure process
