Job Description:

The Aircraft Maintenance Assistant Manager is primarily responsible for managing current aircraft maintenance and repair operations, implementing actions and procedures to accomplish aircraft maintenance objectives and scheduling. Supervises a team of A&P Mechanics with the direction of the Aircraft maintenance Manager. Also, complete A&P Mechanic duties performing routine maintenance, and repairs on aircraft in accordance with applicable FAA regulations, manufacturer and customer instructions, and company policies.

Qualifications

Must hold a valid Mechanics Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings. Meet requirements of 14 CFR Part 65.83&8239; (Required)

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
  • Five (5) years general aviation maintenance experience required.
  • One (1) year prior team leadership or supervisory experience required.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization.

*Verifiable aircraft maintenance employment within the last two years required.

  • Familiar with parameters and standards established specifically in Federal Aviation Regulations, Parts 53, 65 and 91
  • Familiar with basic inventory management functions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability
  • Ability to differentiate colors such as: red, green, yellow, blue, black, brown, white, and orange.
  • Possess the legal right to work in the United States
  • Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language.
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts including nights, holidays, weekends, and days off.
  • Must fulfill FAA criminal background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA)
  • Must be able to secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
  • Federal law requires DBP to determine an applicants history of Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and/or alcohol violation(s) or refusal(s) to test before hiring him/her into a safety-sensitive position.

License/Certification:

  • Airframe & Powerplant License (Required)
