What you can expect as a Accounting Manager at DAS Aviation:
The Accounting Manager leads core accounting and operational finance functions for DAS Aviation, including AQRD, DAS Parts Sales, and related departments, while managing the Billing Team. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and alignment between accounting and operational performance. Responsibilities include oversight of Accounts Receivable, Cash Applications, Billing, General Ledger postings, Work-In-Process (WIP) accounting, and month-end close. This role partners closely with Operations and FP&A.
You will be ESSENTIAL to the following FUNCTIONS including:
- Manage and develop a team of three accounting professionals within the Billing Team, providing leadership, direction, and performance management.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable, Cash Applications, and Billing for all DAS Aviation departments, including AQRD and DAS Parts Sales.
- Ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with company policy.
- Monitor AR aging, unapplied cash, and billing accuracy; resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee General Ledger activity and ensure accurate posting of operational financial data.
- Post journal entries, accruals, and accounting adjustments.
- Maintain integrity and accuracy of financial data across accounting systems.
- Oversee Work-In-Process (WIP) accounting to ensure proper revenue and cost recognition.
- Partner with Operations to ensure financial results align with operational performance.
- Lead month-end close for DAS Aviation operational accounting.
- Support FP&A with month-end P&L reviews and variance analysis.
- Provide financial insight and analysis to support business decisions.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls over revenue and operational accounting.
- Identify process gaps and implement efficiency and automation improvements.
- Standardize and optimize accounting and operational workflows.
- Lead accounting system setup, configuration, and enhancements.
- Serve as liaison between Accounting, Operations, and IT on financial system matters.
- Lead special projects related to accounting systems, financial structure, and process improvement.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
What youll need to bring with you:
Your education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but not required.
Your Experience:
5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong experience with General Ledger, revenue recognition, Work-In-Process (WIP) accounting, and month-end close.
Experience in operational, project-based, or service accounting environments preferred.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems and financial process improvement.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Leadership or supervisory experience required.
