Responsibilities
- The Accounting Manager reports directly to the on-site Controller. In this role, he/she will be responsible for coordinating all accounting related activities at the site and coordinating with other sites across the company to ensure accurate consolidation of the Kinston entity.
- The job holder will support the site controlling team and will manage critical interfaces with key stakeholders across the Kinston finance team, corporate office(s), and business organization.
- The Accounting Manager will ensure the robustness of the closing process on time and on quality and compliance with IFRS an US GAAP were applicable.
- In addition to the required accounting skillset, the Accounting Manager will need excellent analytical and communication skills. Regular use of financial systems such as SAP will be a regular requirement.
- The Accounting Manager with be responsible for the growth and development of their team and other members of the on-site finance team.
- This position also provides opportunities to improve or develop new processes to optimize efficiency or implement new account requirements while maintaining an effective system of internal controls.
Primary Responsibilities:

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for completing monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close activities on time and on quality. They will be responsible for the delivering a complete and accurate income statements and balance sheets for consolidation into the broader companies income statement and balance sheet.
The jobholder will have oversight of all accounting functions including (but not limited to) Program Accounting, Inventory Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Receivable Accounting, and Accounts Payable Accounting. Growth and development of members of the Accounting and Finance team will be critical to this role.
The Accounting Manager will identify program risks and opportunities on the closing and measure their potential impact on the financial statements by ensuring the mitigation actions are assigned to the appropriate stakeholders and implemented to full effect.
He or she will also contribute and coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring that the organization is ready and prepared.

The jobholder will participate in department projects and/or cross-department projects. They will act as a team member of the Finance organization to contribute to the integration, automization, and digitalization of the closing process when applicable. He or she will ensure implementation of ERP system enhancements and other financial tools that enhance operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 5-7 years of related experience
- Understanding of GAAP/IFRS and accounting principles
- Positive and proactive attitude along with strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills and ability to work with diverse teams at different levels of the organization
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills, organizing and analyzing large volumes of data
- Ability to travel
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in corporate or public accounting
- SAP or other ERP system and payroll systems
- Background with internal controls, collaboration with external auditors, and account reconciliation
