The position reports directly to the Controller. The Accounting manager will assist the Plant Controller with day-to-day execution of general accounting activities, related reporting processes and operating activities. Duties to include general ledger management, month end/quarter end closing and reporting, consolidation of actual results, preparation and review of all financial statements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • The Accounting Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including overseeing the close process and driving working capital initiatives.
  • Assist the Plant Controller on all month end and quarter close activities including: trial balance review, journal entry adjustments, sales analysis and ensuring proper posting of revenue, financial statements and supplemental schedules, accrual schedules, balance sheet account reconciliations, and reserves. Responsible for establishing and ensuring timeliness of overall monthly close activities, and accuracy of close processes.
  • Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls are implemented and adhered to.
  • Assist the Plant Controller to oversight of day to day general ledger. Duties include performing and overseeing the following; regular GL account reviews, cash clearing, and inter-company reconciliations. Prepare/review reports and analysis of sales, cost of goods sold, inventory, reserves, tax, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all PCC Corporate Policies and Procedures, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
  • Timely and accurate operational metric reporting, including the daily reporting metrics.
  • Oversee Account Payable and Account Receivable.
  • Proper management of accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Hires, develops, trains, coaches and manages the performance of direct reports.
  • Make recommendations on process improvements and standardization to gain greater efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KEY CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS/CHARACTERISTICS

  • Working knowledge of financial closing, consolidations, reporting and planning.
  • GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge is required. Track record of improving internal controls highly valued.
  • Exceptional analytical abilities and understanding of accounting and finance issues in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and profitability and variance analysis.
  • A proactive, hands-on strategic thinker with solid problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation vs. simple reporting.
  • Experience presenting to highest levels of management with confidence and precision.
  • Solid, overall business acumen and a strong mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Attention to detail and an attitude of 100 compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
  • The role requires verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight time frames and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • High energy level and ability to work flexible hours.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skill.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • BS or BA in Accounting or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years Accounting/Finance experience in a manufacturing environment; publicly traded company experience highly preferred
  • Must have experience with ERP systems

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of mangers, auditors, vendors and/or customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS & REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages and volume. Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Define problems and collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Concentrate on details and apply mathematical skills to solve problems and ability to use sound judgment and professional discretion.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $120,000 to $140,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 3X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company&39;s medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
