We were meant to fly.This job post is for the role of Aerothermal Analysis Sub Section Manager within the Campania Engineering Center organization, at Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business unit. We are looking for a talented and experienced engineer expected to lead the team as Sub-Section Manager, having the prime responsibility for the Aerothermal Analysis of Engine Modules and Components of both commercial and military Products thru their entire Lifecycle from technology development to new product introduction and service.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities     

The Sub-Section Manager is responsible for functional, business, and broad company objectives as they relate to the successful execution of Aerothermal analysis of engine components and modules, either for commercial and military programs. Specifically the Sub-Section Manager will:

  • Lead an engineering team of direct reports with focus on Low Pressure Turbine, Combustors and Reheats modules and components design and development, assuring compliance to requirements and achieve the objectives of cost, performance and life defined in the relevant technical product specifications

  • Facilitate and foster the adoption of GE Flight Deck within the assigned team

  • Support Design Reviews (DRs) and Test Reviews (TDRs)

  • Check and approve analysis reports both at module and component level

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

  • Help and Assist assigned resources to continuously improve their performance and knowledge in the applicable area of expertise, and share with others through teaching, consulting, mentoring

  • Coordinate with external partners and research organizations in the aerothermal discipline

  • Collaborate with adjacent engineering sections and subsections, in direct  partnership with programs Technical Leaders

  • Develop relationship with external and internal customers acting as expert, lean, and reliable reference

  • Support other departments (GSC, Quality, Product Support..) and Suppliers to achieve producibility and manufacturability targets

  • Coordinates activities required to meet engineering priorities and related KPI

  • Efficient communicate with the team to improve collaboration and eliminate waste. Share information and promote open dialogue.

 

Qualifications/Requirements    

  • Engineering Master degree from an accredited university. Aeronautical/Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred

  • Previous proven and consistent experience in an engineering design team

  • Fluent written and spoken Italian and English

  • Clear thinking and diligent approach

  • Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required

  • Effective team building and problem solving skills

  • Ability to offer new solutions outside of set parameters by using multiple internal and external sources to help arrive to a decision

  • Capable to work in multicultural environment, preferable previous international experience

  • System and open mindset, clear thinking.
