Overview
We are seeking a Aircraft Logs and Records Technician, GS-301-07 to support Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS-16) under the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing (3D MAW). This role directly supports MV-22 Osprey squadron maintenance operations by supporting aviation maintenance operations including documentation, readiness tracking, and compliance with Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) requirements to ensure aircraft mission readiness.
The Aircraft Logs and Records Technician plays a critical role in maintaining accurate aircraft and engine logbooks and associated maintenance records in support of MV-22 operations. This role ensures integrity, accuracy, and compliance of maintenance data across all documentation systems, supporting both operational readiness and audit requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage aircraft, engine, and Support Equipment (SE) logbooks and records in accordance with NAMP requirements
- Perform data entry, validation, retrieval, and correction within maintenance data systems (e.g., OOMA/NALCOMIS)
- Analyze and resolve discrepancies related to maintenance documentation, system errors, and data inconsistencies
- Generate, extract, and interpret maintenance and readiness reports for leadership and operational planning
- Create and maintain archives, backups, and data storage solutions supporting deployments and detachment operations
- Support Maintenance Control with accurate documentation of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions
- Transmit and receive maintenance data via approved electronic systems and communication methods
- Perform database and systems analysis to ensure data integrity and operational continuity
- Prepare reports, correspondence, and administrative documentation related to aircraft maintenance activities
- Ensure compliance with applicable programs, including:
- NAMP Compliance Audit Program
- Technical Directive (TD) Compliance Program
- Naval Aviation Maintenance Discrepancy Reporting Program (NAMDRP)
- Aircraft Maintenance Material Readiness List (AMMRL)
- METCAL, NOAP, and related maintenance tracking programs
Minimum Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret Clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain)
- Minimum 8 years of experience with OOMA/NALCOMIS or equivalent naval aviation maintenance data systems
- Strong understanding of Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) policies and procedures
- Experience maintaining aircraft logs, records, and maintenance documentation in an aviation environment
- Proficiency in data analysis, database management, and report generation
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and correct data/system discrepancies
- Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting MV-22 Osprey (MV-22B) operations
- Prior experience within MALS or Marine Corps aviation logistics environments
- Familiarity with DoD aviation maintenance and logistics systems
