Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onwards toward certifying the Joby aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, scaling our manufacturing, and preparing to launch commercial service in 2025.

As the Aircraft OEM Product Support Lead Joby Aviation, you will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic plan to ensure the reliability and availability of essential aircraft parts within our manufacturing and distribution network. This role is instrumental in shaping the maintenance strategy for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, contributing to the companys long-term success.

Responsibilities
  • Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic maintenance plan for aircraft OEM parts with our maintenance engineering and fleet operation maintenance team to optimize reliability, minimize downtime, and ensure production continuity.

  • Supplier Collaboration: Collaborate with OEM suppliers to establish maintenance protocols, ensure compliance with maintenance standards, and improve the lifespan of aircraft components.

  • Maintenance Scheduling: Create and oversee maintenance schedules, ensuring timely inspections, repairs, and replacements of critical parts.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain comprehensive equipment records and documentation to meet regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to develop quality control processes to maintain the highest standards of reliability and safety for aircraft component repairs and management.

  • Cost Management: Develop business plans and Identify cost-effective parts maintenance solutions while upholding quality standards.

  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with internal maintenance teams to ensure seamless execution of maintenance plans.

  • Leadership: Manage and develop others by providing direction, support, coaching and guidance.

Required
  • Bachelors degree in a engineering field (e.g., Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent experience. Masters degree preferred

  • Proven experience in strategic leadership roles within aircraft parts maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing facility

  • Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance practices, regulations, and quality standards

  • Exceptional strategic thinking and planning skills, with a track record of implementing successful maintenance strategies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven maintenance decisions

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities

Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $140,500 - $231,600 annually. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
