Aerotek is currently recruiting for a Lead A&P Mechanic in Chicago that has 1-2 years of A&P experience on Airbus to lead a team of 3-5 other A&Ps, handling both hands-on and computer work.
Pay Rate: $37-$42/hour.
Work Environment
Candidates will mainly work outside. They will be given a vehicle to drive to each aircraft and perform maintenance. They also have an office that is just outside the airport that is used for training. Candidates will train with a team but then once they are fully up and going they will be completely independent.
Thursday - Saturday 11:00am - Midnight working 3 13.5 hour shifts. Can also pick up OT.
Responsibilities
- Perform line maintenance duties, activities, and maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Troubleshoot systems; disassemble, repair, and reassemble sections and components according to Approved Technical Data.
- Ensure all departing aircraft are safe in accordance with FAR’s and air carrier/manufacturer manuals, documenting all work performed.
- Collaborate and communicate with the air carrier’s maintenance control center as required.
- Lead a team of 3-5 other A&Ps, handling both hands-on and computer work.
- Take calls from customers regarding service done on aircraft.
Essential Skills

- 1-2 years of A&P experience on Airbus
