This position reports directly to the Director of Maintenance. It is a working position that includes floor labor, direct supervision, and administrative tasks. It is anticipated that this position will work roughly 2/3 of the time on the floor and 1/3 of the time on administrative/management tasks in an office, with changes as the position and operation evolve.
Experience and Certifications:
Must meet the following competencies and experience requirements prior to assignment of position:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1 year or more with Inspector Authorization (IA) certifications and current certification as required by FAA
- 5 years or more as Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification and current as required by FAA regulations.
- Adherence to Barr Air Patrol policies and procedures, including but not limited to the company training, drug and alcohol, and other programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the Conroe, TX (KCXO) maintenance operations daily, including championing of maintenance excellence, personal professionalism, safety, and reliability of aircraft at CXO. Manage personnel in conjunction with the Director of Maintenance. Schedule maintenance and vendor services, inspect/verify completed work, review work orders and technician log entries; conduct maintenance and inspection on company aircraft, and enforce company policy at CXO
- Serve as a backup to the Director of Maintenance while DOM is away on leave
- Ensure inspections, repairs, and component changes performed at CXO are accomplished in accordance with manufacturer and/or FAA accepted procedures
- Mentor, train, and develop less-experienced A&P Technicians and noncertified apprentices
- Ensure company aircraft at CXO are maintained in an airworthy condition; consult with other company base locations on an as-needed basis during airworthiness discussions.
- Responsible for the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the maintenance programs at CXO
- Ensure compliance with maintenance procedures, airworthiness directives, service bulletins, service letters, and applicable Federal Aviation Regulations for the aircraft under his/her care
