The Associate Digital Marketing Manager – Cargo is responsible for supporting the Digital Marketing Manager – Cargo, on executing digital projects and tasks on platforms such as the Air Canada Cargo website, email and other digital marketing channels. This role will assist in developing and executing email marketing campaigns, ongoing web development optimizations on aircanadacargo.com, while also managing the website’s content. They will support the evolution of the Air Canada Cargo brand to meet business objectives and collaborate with internal stakeholders within the branch and across the larger Air Canada family to deliver on projects and campaigns for lead generation, and customer engagement.  

The ideal candidate excels in a collaborative environment, is comfortable with technical, operational, and creative subject matter and communication, and is a self-starter.

Responsibilities:

Email Marketing 

  • Execute Air Canada Cargo email marketing campaigns including mass and targeted messages, marketing automation, programming (using Salesforce Account Engagement, previously Pardot), deployment, and segmentation that align with customer journey strategies. 
  • Liaise with technical teams on integration and migration projects and ongoing digitalization initiatives. 
  • Manage the email database to ensure deliverability and provide updated information to internal stakeholders; manage the development of distribution lists and targeting rules, dynamic fields driven by logic roadmaps, preference centre, and other data. 
  • In partnership with our legal team and corporate marketing teams, stay up to date on commercial data protection laws globally to ensure compliance for Air Canada Cargo; Manage Canada’s anti-spam legislation (CASL) and US CAN-SPAM regulations and compliance. 
  • Understand and stay current on marketing communications-related technology and trends to determine their potential impact on our industry and Air Canada Cargo; apply learnings within Cargo.  

Website 

  • Assist the Lead Digital Marketing Manager – Cargo, with developing, updating and managing the content and structure of the Air Canada Cargo website. 
  • Update new content on the website with direction from product subject matter experts (SMEs) and Lead Digital Marketing Manager – Cargo. 
  • Monitor website content to keep the site current and improve the navigation and the discovery of important content. 
  • Gather web metrics to assist with understanding who and how the content is being consumed and ensure that information is shared with relevant parties.  
  • Support the improvement of discoverability of the Air Canada Cargo website and content through the use of search engine optimization (SEO) techniques and best practices. 
  • Partner with internal departments for cross-functional development and collaboration between the platforms. 

General 

  • Maintaining project status updates and timelines 
  • Assist with briefing in digital projects and execution  
  • Ensure brand identity and requirements are followed in all marketing communication channels 
  • Participate in additional projects within the Marketing/Communications department

Qualifications

  • University degree in Communications, Marketing or equivalent  
  • 2 - 3 years of relevant experience 
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills  
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple, simultaneous priorities  
  • Working understanding of analytics and data manipulation  
  • Must have experience with an email marketing platform; additional experience in marketing automation is an asset 
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Jira is an asset 
  • Familiarity of HTML,  and related languages is an asset
