Are you a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the entire avionics lifecycle, from new installations to complex repairs? Strategic Support Solutions is seeking a dynamic and experienced Avionics Manager to oversee our entire avionics department in Greenville, SC.
This is a critical leadership role responsible for rebuilding and leading a 12-person department across two shifts. We are looking for a manager who can own the budget, scope of work, and team development for both our new installation and our install repair teams. You will be the single point of accountability for the department’s performance, profitability, and growth.
Your Mission: Build and Lead a World-Class Department
Taking over responsibilities previously handled by the Maintenance Manager, you will have the autonomy to shape the future of our avionics division.
- Full Departmental Leadership: Provide strategic direction and daily management for a 12-person team across two shifts, covering both new avionics installations and post-install troubleshooting/repair.
- Budget & Financial Oversight: Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring projects are completed profitably and on schedule. You will be responsible for the department&39;s P&L.
- Work Scope & Project Management: Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of all avionics projects, from initial customer quote to final delivery.
- Team Development & Mentorship: Hire, train, and develop your team of supervisors and technicians, fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Technical & Regulatory Expertise: Serve as the ultimate technical authority for the department, leveraging your knowledge of General Aviation, Garmin, and Pro Line systems to guide your teams and ensure all work complies with FAA regulations.
- Strategic Planning: Work with senior leadership to identify opportunities for growth, new capabilities, and improved efficiency within the avionics department.
What You Bring to the Table:
Required Qualifications:
- Must have prior management or supervisory experience in General Aviation avionics.
- Broad knowledge across both new avionics installations AND post-install troubleshooting is required.
- Direct experience with Garmin and/or Collins Pro Line avionics suites.
- Proven experience with departmental budgeting, P&L management, or similar financial oversight.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- An active A&P license.
- Experience managing a multi-shift operation.
- Strong background in a Part 145 repair station environment.
