We fly scheduled and charter service between busy international airports, remote destinations in a beautiful province of British Columbia.Base Supervisor is a functional leadership position responsible for providing supervision, direction training and support to all Customer Service Agents at the Victoria base. The successful individual will be expected to role model behaviors that respect the corporate values, professionalism, diversity and service excellence to our internal and external customers.Job Responsibilities:Ensure all ground operations are conducted in a structured, organized, efficient fashion, without sacrificing public safety, or the quality standardsBuild a strong, competent and cohesive team of employees that are motivated to support the Companys vision and uphold and reflect positively on the Companys valuesProvide leadership, training and performance management to all team membersFoster and maintain a culture that is respectful, supportive and engagingIdentify, address and support employee performance in a timely manner and engage in effective progressive discipline as necessaryEnsure that all airports employees are provided with adequate training, currency checks and daily communication supportMonitor and audit all areas of the base operations to ensure compliance with all published standards and regulatory requirementsActively participate in Base Supervisor team meetingsSupport an active working relationship with airport authority and attend airport operations meetings as applicablePrepare daily work schedules, ensure adequate and efficient staffingDevelop/ implement appropriate corrective action plans to resolve operational audit findings with the goal to improve the departments overall safety, increase operational effectiveness and reduce operational costsSupport facilitating monthly schedulingApprove timesheets and authorize overtime hours according to standardsResolve business and human relations problems or grievances in consultation with Employee Services and Operations Manager YVR/Area Manager.Other duties as assignedQualifications and Competencies:Education: Minimum of High School GraduationAviation/airline operations experience is a very strong assetA minimum of 5 years experience in a airports and/or customer service environmentMinimum of two years experience in supervisory or management roleClear and effective communication skills with demonstrated ability to have difficult conversations maintaining dignity and confidentialityAbility to work in a time-sensitive, ever changing environment where multitasking and problem solving are key attributesDemonstrated proficiency with computers and recent experience using Windows-based softwareProven history time management and organizational excellenceMust be able to obtain and maintain designated security clearanceFlexible to work weekends, evenings, holidays and/or irregular shifts/overtime as the operation demandsWhy Pacific Coastal Airlines?Company Culture: We honour our company motto of People Friendly, People First for both our employees and our passengers.
