Reporting to the Manager, Cargo Ground Handling Performance, the Cargo Performance Manager is responsible for reporting Cargo’s global network performance. Performance metrics include developing and setting targets and KPIs for Service Level Agreements (SLA) to assist the portfolio managers, in view of improving performance and reducing cost.

Responsibilities: 

Responsible to prepare the Performance metrics (daily & monthly), analyze results and communicate results to AC’s Station Managers, Ground Handlers, and Trucking service providers.

  • Prepare and measure Service Level Agreements for all stations in the Air Canada Cargo network, using the industry performance metrics (IATA Cargo IQ) and the performance targets set as AC Standards and agreed upon at contract negotiation.
  • Represent Air Canada on the IATA Cargo IQ committee and various working groups.
  • Review issues with Station Managers, Contracts managers, raise any reporting / performance issues and action all issues.
  • Manage the process for tracking of issues & ensure resolution.
  • Work closely with the Operational, Commercial & HQ teams to ensure SLA contract terms meet operational needs and AC standards.
  • Design, develop, track, report and trend station Performance through detailed analysis and score carding.
  • Continue to develop SLA reporting mechanism, automation, and coding to accelerate process to automate as much as possible.
  • Track monies owed to GH/AC and communicate to GH, provide information on incentive/ penalties to Finance.
  • Track incentive, penalties, Vendor expenses /revenues and develop cost per kilo by station & trucked lane.
  • External Communication to 3rd party: i.e., Ground handling & Trucking company performance letters (safety, security, Cargo IQ).
  • Support Portfolio managers with station cost analysis, AFC preparation, RFP process, and budget.
  • Update & maintain the Corporate Database for all contracts under Cargo Contracts.
  • Maintain the various databases/worksheets to be updated – Procurement Contracts list /information, Revenue contracts, Costing (Savings, Cost Avoidance, and Increases), IOSA requirements, Safety, Rates for comparison purposes.
  • Vendor Management: identify cost reduction opportunities, avoid billing errors, keep track of station requirements.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer focus.
  • Project Management Certificate (or equivalent) and credentials / accreditation in Quality Management (ASQ,   CQ Mgr.) or equivalent is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years airline Operations experience, preferably in Cargo, Airports, Flight Operations, Security, or Flight Dispatch.
  • Must demonstrate significant achievements in specific quality areas and/or issues; proven superior interpersonal skills, writing skills and leadership capabilities.
