BAE is presently seeking to hire a Carpenter Craft Supervisor I.
A Carpenter Craft Supervisor I is responsible for the direct supervision and oversight of trade personnel, leading the Department to successfully complete assigned work safely, within budget and on time. Works to ensure that the overall project adheres to schedule by integrating work efforts with other craft supervision. Candidate will be responsible for the development of staff.

Primary Duties to include, but not limited to:
  • Supervise manpower and material to support schedule milestone requirements.
  • Review project schedules and budgets during ship availabilities.
  • Control labor and materials.
  • Ensure that assigned production work is completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Participate in the planning process.
  • Direct personnel and assign work accordingly.
  • Ensure skill level of personnel meets job requirements.
  • Ship check and estimate work as required.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Complete other job duties as assigned by Craft Manager.







Job Requirements:
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
8+ Years with HS
8+ Years with AA
4+ Years with BS
  • May substitute equivalent experience training and/or certifications for the degree.
  • Must have at least 12 years in shipyard trade experience. Previous ship repair experience is required.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding, knowledge, technical skills, and concepts related to general carpentry and marine carpentry, to include block builds for dry-docking ships.
  • Understand and working knowledge of NAVSEA specifications and NAVSEA Standard items, USCG, ABS, OSHA standards and other marine guidelines.
  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures and government regulations.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Solve problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Board ships, enter confined spaces with limited visibility and have the ability to climb up and down stairs and/or ladders of varying heights to complete the job or inspections.
  • Work indoors and outdoors under all weather conditions.
  • Physically and medically qualified to wear required personal protective equipment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Responds positively and decisively in normal and emergency situations.
  • Ensures compliance to all environmental, health and safety policies and quality standards
  • Assists planners, managers, and superintendents with workflow and strategy.
  • Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and training craft employees to meet requirements of job.
  • Responsible for supervising activities and managing costs to ensure production and quality of work performed meets specifications, costs, and schedules.
  • Responsible for maintaining all equipment for specific operational performance and optimum utilization as well as ensuring inspections remain current
  • Responsible for enforcing worker compliance with following appropriate procedures in the areas of safety, production, accuracy control, cost, and quality assurance.
  • Selected Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain \"DBIDS\" access card.



Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $71600 - $121700

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
