Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Production Cell Manager to join our Operations Production team based initially at our Staverton site, with the role relocating to our MRO site in Tewkesbury once the facility becomes operational. As a member of the Production Management Team, youll be responsible for the planning, organisation and direction of the manufacturing cell teams to ensure business objectives, production and customer service targets are met.

The Role:
As a member of the Operations/Production Management team you’ll be responsible for planning, organizing and directing the OE and MRO cell teams to ensure that business objectives, production and customer service targets are met. Youll be leading a Cell with an Electronics product set, so youll need prior experience of Electronics build, test and repair.
You’ll have Line Management responsibilities including training management, conducting appraisals, absence management; performance management and succession planning. You’ll use a variety of mediums to maintain effective communication throughout your team (ie. Team meetings, 1-1, daily visual management tracker).
You’ll drive a culture of teamwork, health & safety, continuous improvement and ‘right first time’ philosophy for quality of work.
About you:
You’ll have experience as a Production Supervisor/Production Manager/Senior Cell Lead within an engineering/manufacturing environment. Prior experience of managing a OE/MRO Cell within Aerospace is ideal, but not essential for success in your application. Experience with Electronic products such as PCBs and an understanding of repair and test to component level is essential.
You’ll be able to demonstrate people management skills through prior exposure to sickness management, performance management and development. You’ll have working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
You’ll be motivated by producing results, driving improvements and adapting to a dynamic work environment. You’ll be able to demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills in addition to previous use of ERP and IT systems to produce performance information and reporting.
