OVERVIEW: The Clinical Education Manager, in conjunction with the Director of Education, is accountable for the development, implementation, and oversight of initial and continuing education for clinical employees and ensuring that required competencies are adhered to. In addition, this position coordinates in-house education events and maintains proficiency in the role of Flight Nurse, Flight Paramedic. Will be required to drive personal or company vehicles whenever and wherever business needs necessitate. This is a safety-sensitive position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinates in-house education events and maintains proficiency in the role of Flight Nurse, Flight Paramedic.
• Supervises Field Training staff at all bases
• Required to drive personal or company vehicles whenever and wherever business needs necessitate
• Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians and the community
• Reviews transports involving advanced procedures and/or any charts referred for additional follow up to ensure they adhere to the highest clinical standards LFN expects
• Oversee maintenance of employee educational files including, but not limited to advanced procedures, clinical rotations, training, and patient care credentials.
• Updates education records after each in service and clinical meeting
• Schedules and organizes basic and advanced skills review
• Schedules recertification classes
• Implements and oversees orientation of all new clinical crew members
• Demonstrates knowledge of, and complies with, departmental and company policies and procedures
• Demonstrates/models the companys Code of Conduct
• Attends meetings and participates on committees as requested
• Ensures medical personnel are oriented and trained on new aviation and medical equipment
• Assists in writing / revising medical and company protocols to maintain clinical excellence
• Ensures the contents of the clinical orientation binder is up to date and relevant
• Regular attendance and punctuality are required
• Preserve safety and risk management culture and rules
• Report all concerns related to safety and risk management immediately, working with Director of Safety and Risk Management, Director of Quality Management and others as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• At least three years of Flight Nurse, Flight Paramedic.
• Previous pre-hospital clinical education experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, PALS instructor status must be obtained within six months of hire.
• Must have knowledge of local, regional, and national healthcare dynamics and regulatory requirements

• Must maintain all requirements outlined in the Flight Nurse, Flight Paramedic job description, as applicable to licensure.
• Must be knowledgeable in related computer programs (MS Office, Word and Excel)

Director of Education

CLASSIFICATION: Full time / Exempt
