Reports to: Cloud & Platforms Senior Lead

Drive the design, delivery and continuous improvement of cloud and infrastructure platforms that power Cathay’s digital services. Your technical judgement and hands‑on knowledge of public cloud services such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Alibaba Cloud will shape solutions that meet complex business needs while staying compliant, cost-effective and reliable. Working closely with infrastructure architects, domain specialists and delivery teams, you will define infrastructure approaches, guide deployments and provide expert Level 3 support during service issues.

You will lead product ownership for assigned cloud or platform services, overseeing budgeting, implementation, change management and transition activities in line with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) practices. The role blends deep technical work with coordination across teams, asking you to diagnose issues, drive root‑cause remediation and improve the way infrastructure services are built and maintained.

• Prepare, manage and review budgets for cloud infrastructure products and services.
• Develop and maintain cloud‑based infrastructure products and services that meet business, cost and compliance requirements.
• Serve as subject matter expert and provide Level 3 technical support to resolve service incidents and failures.
• Collaborate with infrastructure architects, technical specialists and delivery teams to shape infrastructure designs and implementation plans.
• Lead product ownership activities for assigned infrastructure projects and services.
• Oversee implementation, transition, change management and maintenance activities aligned with Information Technology Service Management processes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within cloud and platform domains.
• Provide 24/7 support availability when required.

• Hold a technical degree with at least 8 years of IT experience, including a minimum of 5 years in IT infrastructure.
• Demonstrate proven technical management experience within a complex IT infrastructure environment.
• Show professional competency in at least one area of public cloud, infrastructure hosting or automation, with broad knowledge of other emerging technologies.
• Have solid experience developing solutions and making decisions with minimal supervision.
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form with a wide range of audiences.
• Apply strong analytical, problem‑solving, decision‑making and critical‑thinking skills, including troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain strong customer focus with the ability to understand expectations and user behaviour.
• Understand strategy and balance tactical and strategic work while driving change.
• Demonstrate enthusiasm for learning new technologies with a proven track record of adopting emerging tools.
• Preferably bring experience with ITIL processes; operating systems (Red Hat Linux/Microsoft Windows); networking/storage; cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Alibaba Cloud, GCP); cloud automation tools (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Lambda, Ansible, Terraform, Azure Automation, Alibaba ROS); CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, GitLab, Backstage); agile methodologies such as Scrum; and good English and Cantonese communication skills. Candidates with less experience may be considered as Infrastructure Engineer.
