Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Generate efficient and reliable CNC programs for aerospace components using Siemens NX CAM software
  • Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to develop machining strategies for complex geometries and tight tolerances
  • Perform thorough toolpath simulations and verifications to ensure collision-free and error-free machining operations
  • Optimize machining processes to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and enhance overall productivity
  • Implement cutting-edge machining techniques, tooling, and technologies to stay at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing advancements
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and production teams to provide technical support and address any machining-related issues
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of machining results and provide recommendations for continuous process improvement
  • Maintain accurate documentation of CNC programs, tooling setups, and process parameters for future reference
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and industry regulations to maintain a safe working environment
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, software updates, and emerging technologies to continuously enhance skills and knowledge

This is a key technical cross functional team member position, with interaction among engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and the supplier base that will drive cross-functional execution to exceed milestone and program targets for NPIs and day to day production activities on the shop.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Extensive hands-on experience (8-10 years) in aerospace manufacturing and CNC programming using Siemens NX CAM
  • Strong proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, models, and GD&T principles
  • Proven expertise in creating efficient toolpaths for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis machining operations
  • In-depth knowledge of machining techniques, cutting parameters, and best practices for aerospace materials (e.g., aluminum, titanium, composites)
  • Familiarity with advanced cutting tool technologies and their applications
  • Experience with CNC machine tools, fixtures, and workholding techniques in an aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines
