The Work
As a Development Environment Software Manager, you will:
•Provide technical leadership over the software and infrastructure-as-code capabilities of the team.
•Lead the team during a time of growth and expansion on the program, implementing scalable and extendable solutions into an existing baseline.
• Drive team performance in cost, schedule, and technical execution.
• Manage talented engineering teams, aligning with organizational vision and objectives.
• Ensure engineering integrity through data-driven management and compliance.
• Monitor and maintain staffing levels to meet demand.
• Proactively manage team risks and opportunities.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, particularly focusing on 1LMX.
• Support personal and career development of team members, emphasizing training and skills.
• Collaborate with HR to prioritize a people first culture and resolve personnel matters promptly.
• Foster an inclusive work environment valuing diversity and innovative thinking.

Please Note:
• This position will require the selected candidate to have or obtain a Secret level U.S. government security clearance before starting with Lockheed Martin, as well as obtain a Special Access Program U.S. government security clearance within a reasonable time after starting the position. U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration.

• A majority of this technical work takes place onsite in labs, so telework is possible by exception, but limited in the normal course of work.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline

- 5+ years working in Software Engineering or Full Stack Engineering

- Due to the Government Security clearance requirement U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration.

- Demonstrated leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives

- Understanding of DevSecOps Practices inclusive of Agile Product Development leveraging Scrum & Kanban
Desired Skills:
- Previous leadership experience, such as mentoring / coaching to support the technical and professional development of others

- Currently possess an active US Government Secret clearance

- Experience leading Software development and/or DevSecOps teams as a technical lead or product owner

- Understanding of the principles of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

- Experience developing and managing a project budget and schedule, managing risks and opportunities, managing to metrics

- Understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM)

- Professional Scrum™ Certification or other recognized Agile certification

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to build effective relationships

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
