Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking candidates for the position of Digital Test Execution Manager 1 to support advanced technology development programs.
This position requires full-time work onsite in either our Linthicum, MD OR Annapolis Junction, MD facilities.
What Youll Get to Do
This is a dual-role manager/digital test execution lead role. Management duties include supporting, developing, and tasking engineering staff; developing engineering process; and providing resources to meet program needs. The manager will also perform technical work on programs. The split between technical and functional management duties will be approximately 80 technical /20 functional, on average. The direct program work may include test execution, technical leadership, or other direct support of a program.
Roles and responsibilities include some or all the following:
- Lead a team of 6-10 technical staff in management role. Administrative management responsibilities include staffing, performance and compensation management, and career development.
- Execute in a technical leadership role overseeing the execution of test systems for a digital test team. Responsible for translating requirements into executable test plans.
- Establish methods for test execution, tracking of test metrics, and engagement with product and engineering discipline leads for communication and continuous improvement.
- Responsible for labor and material execution through cost account management (CAM) assignments.
- Partner with program management to track execution and provide technical leadership to the team.
- Ensure proper engineering processes and procedures are followed.
- Work with peers and training leads to identify critical skill shortfalls; develop appropriate technical training; and improve team performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM related) degree with 5+ years’ relevant experience; Master of Science degree in STEM related field with 3 years of relevant experience; PhD in STEM related field with 1 year of relevant experience.
- Experience in a laboratory setting
- Experience executing and running experimental test
- Understanding fundamentals of circuit design, RF concepts, and material properties
- Strong leadership qualities, including excellent communication and collaboration, team engagement, and organizational skills.
- This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. Citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance per customer requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Significant experience in test troubleshooting
- Experience with MATLAB and/or Python and version control software like GIT and SVN.
- Experimental test subject matter expertise in Northrop Grumman’s Reciprocal Quantum Logic (RQL)
- Experience with cryogenic and superconducting test protocols and methods
- Experience as a technical lead supporting test efforts and staff across multiple test stands
- Active U.S. government security clearance.
Salary Range: $112,600.00 - $177,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
