Other locations that would be considered are Des Plaines,IL, Morris Plains, NJ, Houston, TX, Geismar, LA and BatonRouge, LA locations.

The Director of Environmental Management will provide global leadership for the environmental function of Energy &Sustainability Solutions (ESS) focused on implementation of effective operatingmechanisms that assure regulatory compliance, management of environmental riskand achievement of performance excellence at the operating line level of ESS.

Leads the implementation of environmental programs and practices consistentwith the Honeywell Corporate HSES (Health, Safety, Environmental andSustainability) and ESS HSE Management Systems within a chemical manufacturingenvironment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provides expert technical leadership and oversight for the environmental function of ESS
  • Ensures compliance in operating chemical plants through program implementation and team leadership.
  • Supports and manages the resolution of potential compliance and enforcement actions, and claims, disputes and litigation regarding environmental matters.
  • Leads or participates in significant environmental incident investigations & root cause analyses.
  • Manages and oversees consultant and other environmental services for the business
  • Represents, coordinates and advocates ESSs business interests in appropriate environmental activities, trade associations, governmental & non-governmental committees, etc
  • Participates in due diligence activities as required for acquisition & divestiture
  • Manages and participates in the development of talent and career stewardship discussions within the environmental function of ESS
  • Provides technical guidance/oversight and assures consistency of site level programs and performance improvement
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelors degree in environmental science, engineering, chemistry or related science discipline required
  • Minimum 10 years progressive experience in Health, Safety and Environment, with an emphasis in the environmental discipline required.
  • Minimum 5 years in positions of progressive leadership including people management required
  • Multi-site experience in air, water and wasterequired; specifically regulatory experience with operating Title V permits, andEPA Risk Management Plans.

WE VALUE:

  • Excellent knowledge of US and global environmental laws and regulations is strongly preferred
  • Experience with leading & managing environmental programs in a process industry is strongly preferred
  • Experience in governance, risk management, or compliance roles, preferably in a corporate setting.
  • Experience managing a team of 10 or more in a matrixed environment strongly preferred
  • 15 or more years progressive experience in Health, Safety and Environment, with an emphasis in the environmental discipline strongly preferred
