The Director of Maintenance (DOM) is a key leadership position within Jet 1’s Part 135 operation, responsible for ensuring our aircraft are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and readiness. Working in close partnership with operational leadership, the DOM aligns maintenance planning with Jet 1’s business priorities and service commitments—supporting consistent, on-time performance across the fleet.
This role leads the Part 135 maintenance team and maintains full accountability for compliance with FAA regulations, Jet 1’s General Operations Manual (GOM), General Maintenance Manual (GMM), and all applicable internal policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate Part 135 maintenance personnel to maximize productivity, optimize staffing, and reduce aircraft downtime.

Maintain and continuously improve Jet 1’s GOM and GMM within the DOM’s areas of responsibility, ensuring documentation remains accurate, current, and audit-ready.

Build and manage maintenance plans based on operational demand and fleet priorities; proactively address shifting schedules, parts availability, and resource constraints to keep work moving efficiently.

Develop and manage maintenance budgets, including forecasting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements across the assigned fleet.

Oversee fleet-wide maintenance scheduling and long-range planning to support operational continuity and minimize disruption.

Review and approve maintenance invoices; obtain and evaluate quotes for upcoming maintenance events and major inspections.

Lead with a collaborative, performance-driven management style—coaching the team, setting expectations, and reinforcing accountability and professional development.

Ensure compliance with FAA, OSHA, and applicable EHS requirements, including accurate documentation and timely submission of all required records and reports.

Serve as a primary point of contact for aircraft owners and their representatives, communicating maintenance timelines, scope, and approvals as needed.

Travel occasionally to support aircraft events, inspections, vendor coordination, or operational requirements.
