Position Summary 

  • Location: Raleigh, NC
  • Compensation: $220,000 - $250,000

You will direct and oversee all activities, maintenance programs, inspections, analytics, projections, coordination, and project management for a fleet comprised of a G-550 and a PC-24.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an active member of the Clay Lacy Team, its vision, mission, and values.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to optimize maintenance in support of the GMM and Clay Lacy Aviation as a whole.
  • Work productively with the aircraft crew members to support their missions and expectations from the owner.
  • The DOM will be present for all aircraft arrivals and departures at the aircraft’s home base and surrounding airports.
  • Maintain and adjust the workflow provided for proper decision-making on maintenance-related resources.
  • Shall complete light and moderate work on aircraft. In addition, coordinate the moderate and heavy maintenance inefficient intervals by active scheduling with the owner schedule, crew, Aircraft Management Team, and CLA Maintenance.
  • Establish the environment and expectations where comments, concerns, and suggestions by personnel will be handled and shared with the aircraft management team.
  • Establish and maintain records as required by the FARs, manufacturer, and company policies.
  • Ensure high levels of customer service are provided to the company and its customers.
  • Become familiar with and improve vendor/supplier relationships, contracts, and support services.
  • Anticipate client and crew needs in order to continually improve the level of support and service.
  • Represent the company in aviation matters through trade associations, the FAA, state or municipal aviation bodies, airport management, community organizations, and contract agencies.
  • Maintain high morale through an awareness of company and department policies, employee development programs, and periodic department meetings for the two-way communication of ideas, goals, and objectives.
  • Establish severe weather/natural disaster procedures to protect personnel, aircraft, and facilities. Procedures should address plans for (but not be limited to) situations involving hurricanes, tornadoes, high winds, and hail.
  • Act as the resident expert on matters related to all aspects of safety.
  • Act as liaison with safety organizations (formal and informal) on matters of industry safety concerns.
  • Identify and report safety hazards utilizing CLA’s SMS program to identify and mitigate risk.
  • Provide the Aircraft Management Team with a 24-month projection, updated monthly, inclusive of downtime, estimated costs (man-hours), and coordination.
  • Review vendor invoices and close out work orders in a timely manner.
  • Monthly maintenance projections update.
  • All aircraft discrepancies will be input and updated in the Corridor tracking program.
  • The aircraft’s next maintenance and aircraft schedule will be updated in FL3XX [aircraft management ERP system used company-wide].
  • Aircraft AOG events and/or any discrepancy that has the possibility of affecting a trip are to be reported to Hub Spot.
  • The aircraft DOM will coordinate with the Assistant Director of Maintenance every quarter to audit the aircraft and the records.
  • Additional duties as required and assigned. 

Education

Associate or Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred or equivalent experience (A&P)

Experience & Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a current and valid US-issued FAA A&P
  • Corporate aviation experience
  • Comply with all Federal Aviation regulations, company operations manual, operations specifications, standard operating procedures, and company policies & procedures.
  • Must be able to pass DOT/FAA drug screening, and background checks and submit to random drug/alcohol tests when required.
  • Individuals with relevant and direct military backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Skills and Abilities

  • Must possess and maintain a current and valid US-issued FAA A&P Certificate.
  • Possess a minimum of 10 years of A&P-related duties with experience in maintaining Gulfstream G450/5/550 aircraft as well as some exposure to turbo-prop aircraft.
  • G-550 type rating training or direct experience is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing subordinates or contractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and tasks to meet
  • Able and willing to travel for all aircraft maintenance events not completed at home base.
  • Willingness to work long and sometimes irregular
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication
  • Have excellent interpersonal and management
  • Possess calmness under pressure with professionalism and service to clients and colleague

Physical Requirements

Requires sitting, standing, bending and reaching. May require lifting up to 50 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers, calculators, telephone, and other office equipment; and conduct repairs and troubleshooting on aircraft.
