ST Engineering Aerospace is located in Pensacola, FL, at the Pensacola International Airport. We are a renowned provider of aircraft maintenance and modification (AMM) services for commercial airlines and air freight operators. What YOU will do:
The Director of Human Resources serves as a key member of the Business Unit leadership team and is the senior HR leader responsible for all HR operations, compliance, people programs, and culture‑building activities. You will act as the strategic HR Business Partner to the Senior Director, Head of HR for Commercial Aerospace, and partner closely with the SVP/GM and local leadership.
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead, coach and develop the HR team, including HR Business Partners and administrative staff, fostering capability, growth, and performance.
- Serve as strategic advisor to Business Unit leadership, providing insight on organizational effectiveness, talent, workforce planning, and culture.
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business goals and corporate direction.
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
- Oversee all HR functions: recruitment, employee relations, talent management, benefits, compensation, compliance, and HR administration.
- Manage employee lifecycle processes from onboarding through offboarding, ensuring a seamless and positive experience.
- Guide leaders through investigations, coaching, performance management, exits, and workforce changes such as promotions, layoffs, and disciplinary actions.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, corporate governance, and HR policies.
- Act as the Designated Employer Representative (DER) for the FAA Drug and Alcohol Program; manage program execution including testing, audits, supervisor training, and records management.
- Support adherence to FMLA, ADAAA, the Policy & Procedure Manual (PPM), and all leave and disability processes (including STD/LTD).
Data, Systems & HR Reporting
- Support HRIS implementation and optimization; oversee data accuracy for hires, terminations, transfers, and reporting requirements.
- Manage workforce analytics, advanced reporting, and associated metrics.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment centered on the company’s leadership code.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives, community involvement, and communications across the business unit.
- Manage internal communications and company digital signage and social media content.
Talent Development & Workforce Capability
- Oversee training, leadership development, succession planning, performance reviews, and skills progression programs.
- Manage OJT promotion panels and talent development frameworks.
Benefits, Leave & Workforce Support
- Oversee business unit specific benefits administration, open enrollment, employee inquiries, leaves of absence, and disability programs (STD/LTD).
- Manage workers’ compensation cases including accommodations, light duty, return‑to‑work, legal challenges, liaise with the insurer and settlements.
CSR, Grants & Special Programs
- Develop Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aligned with corporate pillars and business unit leadership vision.
- Manage grant‑related reporting and compliance tied to job creation and training programs.
What YOU need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of HR experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices and employment law.
Preferred Skills
- Aerospace industry experience (preferred, not required).
- Deep expertise in employee relations, compliance, FAA Drug and Alcohol programs, training, and talent management.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to influence at all levels.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with AI tools such as copilot.
