What Will You Be Doing?

Responsible for establishing the procedures, strategy, and tactics to ensure scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activity is completed in compliance with Frontiers maintenance program and regulatory requirements. Continuous optimization of the plan for aircraft and resources to support industry-leading fleet reliability at the lowest possible cost.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure required maintenance is scheduled and assigned as required by Frontiers maintenance program.
  • Minimizes aircraft downtime and maximizes aircraft availability and schedule reliability by planning system-wide aircraft maintenance in response to changes in the operation.
  • Establish & coordinate the short/long term plan to assure facility, manpower, materials/tooling, and skills are available to execute all maintenance activity.
  • Partner with senior leaders and peers across Technical Operations to establish the standards and procedures to ensure continuous airworthiness and realization of operational objectives.
  • Collaborate with network planning, engineering, maintenance programs, maintenance, and other teams to optimize planning effectiveness, costs, and aircraft utilization.
  • Monitor/report costs, fleet performance, and overall effectiveness of maintenance functions; provide feedback and guidance to senior leadership and other teams.
  • Apply process-, fact-, and data-centric approaches to identify improvement opportunities for short- and long-term maintenance planning.
  • Partner with stakeholders (Engineering, Line and Heavy Maintenance, Materials, QA, etc.) to maximize resource utilization and minimize costs.
  • Exercise leadership and develop talent, including coaching and mentoring direct reports and subordinates.
  • Evaluate/recommend maintenance planning platforms/software/systems and remain current on industry trends and developments to advance Frontiers planning environment.
  • Develop and manage the Maintenance Planning budget.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in aviation management, engineering, or similar discipline; 4 years of line maintenance planning or maintenance programs experience (preferably at a 14CFR 121 airline) may substitute for a bachelors degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of engineering, maintenance leadership, maintenance planning, or maintenance programs experience at a 14CFR 121 airline
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience, preferable preferably in an engineering, maintenance, and/or similar organizational leadership capacity
  • Budget development and management experience
  • Prefer an A&P license with a minimum of 5 years of line maintenance experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Seasoned leadership skills and ability to develop respectful managers/teams whom conduct themselves with integrity and consistently deliver on expectations
  • Demonstrated maintenance programs experience at a 14CFR 121 airline
  • Contract performance management; direct management of contracted services providers
  • Motivated self-starter; proven initiator, innovator, and influencer who can drive change, improve processes, and provide sound solutions to complex and routine business issues.
  • Highly effective communicator with frontline personnel, business partners, and executives
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and abstract reasoning skills
  • Excellent judgment - Detailed Detailed-oriented, particularly with procedures development and reporting
  • Ability to clearly and efficiently communicate in verbal or written formats to internal and external constituencies
  • Proven proficiency in meeting deadlines and routine reporting requirements
  • Problem Problem-solving attitude, results and goal-oriented
  • Collegial and collaborative attitude
  • Strong ability to plan and organize multiple projects and tasks under strict deadlines.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft office software
