Job Summary

Under the limited supervision of the Senior Vice President, Engineering & Intelligent Infrastructure, the incumbent will maintain technical standards for all infrastructure technology, determine and uphold operational availability, transform and optimize a technology architecture, and provide underlying technology solutions.

 

 

Here is how the Director, Network Infrastructure will help:  

  • Develop and execute the strategic agenda for technology and technology services within the Intelligent Infrastructure domain. 
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT infrastructure strategy aligned with the Organizational objectives, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Proven leadership experience with network architecture, Operations and cost management
  • Track record designing and implementing large-scale enterprise infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with other technology leads in enterprise applications, data, analytics, to define and run an integrated, holistic strategy, roadmap, and technology architecture that drives business performance and technical progression in modern technology practices security and architecture. 
  • Ensure the transformation to an Intelligent Infrastructure, building a high-level of capability available to the Airport, comprising internal and external colleagues and 3rd party partners and vendors.
  • Oversee the people, processes, and technologies within the technology infrastructure to ensure they deliver outcomes that support the goals of the business.
  • Implement network security measures to safeguard against potential cyber threats and attacks.
  • Oversee operational activities and daily running of all the intelligent infrastructure technology stack, services, and environments, ensuring that they meet any defined Service Level Agreements.
  • Represent the business externally and act as a key internal leader in driving the Intelligent Infrastructure agenda.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Airport’s network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Maximize the use and profit potential of business-owned data centers.
  • Enable the engineering agenda of best practices and continuous delivery/ integration benchmarking against industry peers.
  • Oversee and own initiatives/movements in creating a modern digital foundation to support speed, growth, and flexibility
  • Identify cross-functional dependencies and remove blockers when needed across engineering, design, and product management.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and managerial guidance for all network infrastructure.
  • Implement and direct approved capital programs.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Requirements to apply for the role of Director, Network Infrastructure are:

  • Possess or obtain prior to employment a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license.  Note: license must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering. Master&39;s degree preferred.
  • 7 years of related experience at the managerial level. 
  • Possess or obtain prior to employment a valid Pennsylvania Class C driver’s license.   Note: license must be maintained throughout employment.

 

We also expect that candidates will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities in most cases:  

  • Required Skills:
    1. Advanced support level knowledge of Windows & Mac OS and Microsoft 365
    2. Advanced support level knowledge of Windows core infrastructure technologies     including but not limited to: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NPS
    3. Networking including Virtual Networks, VPN Gateway, DNS, Traffic Manager/Route  53, Express Routes, Load Balancers, Private Links, Private Endpoints, Network Flow      Logs, WAFs
    4. Software Defined WAN, Cloud WAN, Peering Points, Remote Access Services/VPN
    5. IP Addressing/DDI (Schemas, VLANS, DNS, DHCP, IPAM)/ Infoblox
  • Highly Preferred skills:
    1. WIFI/ Wireless Technologies, Wireless Controllers, Switches, Firewalls
    2. Cisco ISE, Network Access Controls and Authentication, SSE, Zero Trust Network Access, Network Routing & Segmentation
    3. Monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Thousand Eyes, Cisco DNA, PRTG
  • Extensive knowledge in running large multi-disciplined technology/engineering teams, including leading teams during periods of technology transformational change in a large, fast-moving organization.
  • Proven knowledge and ability to transform and optimize processes and behaviors.
  • Well versed with ITIL or similar process knowledge with a track record of implementing operational best practices, and deep knowledge with Service Now
  • Experience working with DevOps concepts, tools, and ways of working as a part of agile software development.
  • Extensive knowledge of the policies, practices, and techniques associated with network infrastructure, as well as applicable licenses, policies and laws that are applicable.
  • Considerable knowledge of management techniques
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with numerous variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to function independently and exercise considerable judgement in the resolution of problems and/or coordination of emergency incidents.
