  Purpose of the position

The Duty Manager leads the hub control center as Brussels Airlines station manager in compliance with contextual obligations, such as security, statutory requirements, national and international rules (IATA, ICAO, IOSA, DGR, ..). He/she will be responsible for the proactive assessment during disruption, ensuring & coordinating that all services are performed according to the agreed SLA’s in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

 

Main tasks & responsibilities
  • Act as SPOC for all stakeholders in Brussels (40+ airline companies, Brussels Airport Company (BAC),...) and ensure the daily follow-up of in- & outbound flights.
  • Monitoring and updating the different operational systems with information linked to the aircraft rotations.
  • Ensuring verbal and written communication with guests, internal and external clients.
  • Proactive assessment of available resources during disruption and implementation of cost effective & legal recovery plans in accordance with regulatory and company policies.
  • Ensure reporting on a daily basis on all operational and commercial issues to all departments.
  • Support the Ground Operations project team with your operational knowledge and experience.
  • Leading, coaching and supervising the HCC/GCC team in order to improve quality and processes, thinking and acting towards 100 customer satisfaction by keeping in mind the company core values and interests
  • Organize HCC/GCC planning, appraisals, coaching and training
  • Perform the duty on site between 0500H and 2300H (but not limited to) with 24h/7 on-call availability.

 

Your profile
  • Bachelor or equivalent through experience
  • 5 years of experience in aviation
  • Profound knowledge of check-in and boarding procedures
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of reservation, re-routings, create and customize reservation files
  • Knowledge of reservation system, ticketing & tarification procedures
  • All-round knowledge of the airport working procedures & process flow
  • Strong in Dutch & French; English at a higher level is a minimum requirement (in writing and verbal), German is an asset
  • Extensive knowledge of Window applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Broad orientation, analytical thinking, strong organizer and the power to adaptation are an absolute must
  • Be a trouble-shooter and tackle pro-active and active any potential operational problem
