What You Will Do:
Pratt & Whitney, Central EH&S, Center of Excellence (COE) is looking for a highly motivated individual seeking the opportunity to become part of a cross-functional team that promotes environmental program management and compliance excellence globally across the business enterprise. This position will interact with senior executives, mid-level management, project managers, and hourly and salary associates on the shop floor.
Responsibilities Include:
Participate in managing all P&W environmental programs. With a heavy focus on Air Compliance Management. Program management includes a focus on associated procedures necessary to ensure global compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, Corporate/RTX and Pratt & Whitney environmental goals and policies. This includes developing strategies and tools to proactively minimize and mistake proof regulatory compliance risks including onsite support at our Pratt & Whitney facilities globally.
Provide subject matter expert review of permit-related documentation such as permit applications, modifications, and renewals to ensure legal requirements of the permit can be met. Review and assist in the preparation of regulatory reports as necessary for submittal to various regulatory government agencies prior to certifying compliance. Provide hands-on, in-person regulatory compliance guidance and support to EH&S facility personnel and senior leadership.
Communicate and share knowledge with the global P&W community of new regulatory requirements impacting our Sites and emerging technologies to promote compliance and a sustainable environment that prevents and minimizes conditions that produce waste. Provide assistance to our Sites in maintaining an accurate and current EH&S reporting database to manage data quality and compliance.
Applicants shall be knowledgeable in USA environmental regulations. Knowledge of international environmental regulations is a plus. At a minimum applicants should be familiar with the following USA government programs and regulations:
Regulated Air Emissions (Title V permitting, USEPA NEHSHAP & NSPS Regulations)
RCRA Hazardous Waste
RCRA Non-Hazardous & Recycled Wastes
Waste Manifests
Industrial Wastewater Discharges
Sanitary Waste Discharges
Toxic Release Inventory Reporting
SARA Tier II Reporting
Toxic Substance Control Act
Estimated travel (domestic and internationally) approximately 35 - 50 of the time.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Advanced degree and 7+ years of experience in Environmental, Health, Safety, Ergonomics, Risk, Human Resources, Operations, Industrial Engineering or EH&S Consulting field; OR Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
10+ years of experience in Environmental Program Management.
10+ years of experience in Environmental Air Compliance Management.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Bachelor’s degree in Health and Safety, Environmental Sciences, Industrial Engineering, Kinesiology, or EH&S degree.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulatory compliance.
Experience in manufacturing environment, with a focus on environmental compliance, standards, regulations and best practices.
Knowledge of safety compliance programs and EH&S Management Systems is highly preferred.
Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Safety Professional (CSP), or Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and DOT training.
Experience championing environmental programs and driving company culture.
Experience conducting internal audits and supporting external audit process.
Working knowledge of continuous improvement tools and principles (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, etc.) ideally used to improve EH&S recordables, metrics, and culture.
Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
