Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Executive Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations for our development sites. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in manufacturing leadership, lean principles, and strategic planning to achieve business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Lead and inspire cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure achievement of operational and financial metrics, including safety, compliance, quality, delivery, cost/productivity, and workforce planning
- Lead projects associated with building out technology roadmaps for introduction/improvements into shop constraints, technology maturation and manufacturing industrialization readiness.
Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
- Promote a zero-incident culture and implement proactive safety measures.
Quality:
- Drive quality assurance processes to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Collaborate with quality teams to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
Delivery:
- Optimize production schedules to meet delivery commitments.
- Monitor and improve on-time delivery performance.
Cost Management:
- Develop and manage budgets for manufacturing operations.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining product quality and delivery standards.
Lean Manufacturing:
- Implement lean principles and practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste, including managing operating rhythms for NPI and production.
- Lead kaizen events and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with teams to drive standard work and process optimization.
- Develop a sustainable lean strategy for EW development operations and execute management of action plan. Develop a multi-generation product transition strategy from development to production.
Team Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor manufacturing staff to build a high-performing team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Metrics & Reporting:
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for manufacturing operations.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on operational performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Kaizen, Standard Work, Hoshin Kanri).
- Proven ability to manage large-scale operations and drive continuous improvement.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in manufacturing software and tools.
- Must be US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Special Access Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in aerospace or a related industry.
- Familiarity with GE Aerospace’s FLIGHT DECK lean operating model (if applicable).
- Six Sigma certification or equivalent.
