:
As the Executive Manager, Corporate Communications, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership for and overseeing activities of the company’s Corporate Affairs function, including internal and external communications and related channel management, media relationships, corporate social responsibility, sustainability management and stakeholder management. This is a contract (fixed-term) position.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
- Relationship Management: Builds and develops mutually beneficial relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the media houses, agencies etc.
- People Management: Develops direct reports through effective performance management, identifying training opportunities, coaching employees, and providing leadership and guidance on their performance improvement (when applicable) and career development
KEY FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
These will include but will not be limited to:
- Develops and delivers a Corporate Affairs & Public Relations strategy, with related processes and procedures to support the achievement of the company’s strategy, and monitors the impact of this strategy.
- Builds and leads a capable Corporate Affairs team to conduct all activities within the function.
- Crafts employee communications to ensure that all stakeholders are informed and can be CAL ambassadors within their communities.
- Provides professional advice related to Corporate Affairs issues (including Crisis Communications) to the CEO and Executive Management Team as required.
- Prepares and issues all releases to all key publications and electronic media, and serves as the on-record company spokesperson, proactively pitching stories while responding to media inquiries.
- Reviews key stakeholder relationships (including strong media relationships) to ensure maximum leverage and value from these relationships.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Qualification & Experience
You must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a related field, with a minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in a multi-national organization. A post-graduate degree would be considered an asset.
Knowledge & Competency:
Intentional communication used to inform stakeholders, influence audiences to support CALs overall mission and achieve its objectives by aligning communication efforts with overall objectives.
Understanding of and experience is using a systematic process prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive, unexpected events that threaten CAL’s operations, reputation, or stakeholders, aiming to minimize damage, ensure business continuity, and protect assets through proactive planning, rapid decision-making, and clear communication.
*Comprehensive knowledge of and strong relationships with the media within
Trinidad & Tobago and the wider Caribbean region.
* Sound knowledge and experience with the Government of the Republic of
Trinidad & Tobago, as well as other governments of territories within
which the company operates.
* Expertise in the evolving media landscape and ability to work with traditional and non-traditional media.
* Proficiency with social media platforms.
* Comprehensive knowledge of website management.

Additional Information:
The successful candidate will be based at the companys head office in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, must be legally authorised to work in Trinidad and Tobago, and will be required to travel to other Caribbean Airlines jurisdictions.
