This position involves a wide variety of job conditions and off-hour responsibility for plant facilities and capital project management. The Facilities and EHS Manager has complete oversight of the facilities department to prepare and fulfill repair, construction, and preventive maintenance schedules which maximize the availability of production equipment and facilities throughout the plant and office areas
. Additionally, as our capital projects manager, you will provide support and project management to major capital improvement projects related to the Wyman Gordon Houston facility buildings and grounds.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Manages regular facility maintenance activities such as groundskeeping, trash and waste removal, building repair and upkeep, and other duties as required.
• Plan, schedule, and oversee all CAPEX projects, including planning, tracking, and financial management of the annual capital budget (~$25-$30M).
• Directs and leads initiatives of 6S goals and activities.
• Manage outside projects with FSI and other Plant Engineering vendors.
• Plans for and coordinate the installation of new equipment and the removal or movement of current equipment; find contractors as needed, review the contracts and monitors and approves contractors
• Responsible for developing and monitoring capital improvement budgets
• Keeps equipment maintained and functioning to meet all production and quality requirements, to include reducing downtime, increasing output, and reducing energy costs
• Collaborate with the production team and key employees to effectively plan for scheduled and unscheduled events to maximize time for rebuild repairs and preventative maintenance
• Consistently participate and follow the Plants Manufacturing Operating System, attend and contribute to daily and weekly meetings on a regular basis. Lead, contribute to and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Effectively utilize enterprise planning tools to manage the department
• Initiate and control cost effective methods of operation for our Facilities
• Work with Maintenance to establish a formal maintenance reliability process, focusing on specific areas such as 35KT/29KT/20KT/4KT presses, manipulators, and the R65 automated HT cell.
• Work with Maintenance to Track Mean-time-between-failures (MTBF) and Mean-time-to-repair (MTTR), overhaul critical spares, implement strain gauge tracking, develop PM plans, and monitor on-time PM performance and OEE.
• Manage budget, schedule, subcontractors and internal personnel on projects
• Insure a well-trained and properly motivated workforce and supervisory staff.
• Develops safe and well-maintained departmental areas.
• Contributes to the Company current and long-range budgetary equipment rehabilitation programs consistent with Company objectives.
• Plans, develops and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, Business Management or Equivalent Experience preferred
• Strong familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project
• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies
• Ability to confirm shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem solving capabilities
• Adept at conducting research in project related issues and products
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of heavy industry mechanical systems
• Experience in maintenance planning and CMMS system a plus
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts
