Position Summary:

This position involves a wide variety of job conditions and off-hour responsibility for plant facilities, which are unique to the Maintenance function. The Facilities / Maintenance Manager directs the Maintenance department to prepare and fulfill repair, construction, and preventive maintenance schedules which maximize the availability of production equipment and facilities throughout the plant and office areas. Provide support and project management to major maintenance and capital improvement projects related to the Dillon Facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Report to the General Manager for all matters relating to the predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance of all plant equipment under the planner’s cognizance.
• Oversee a maintenance organization that consists of Supervisors and hourly employees.
• Interface with operations, safety, facilities, and planning at daily production throughput meetings on status of all equipment.
• Maximize availability of tools and equipment in the plants through prompt and reliable maintenance.
• Initiates operating improvements through innovative maintenance techniques.
• Manages and controls the preventative maintenance program on the plant and equipment.
• Effectively interprets and administers the Company’s policies and procedures consistent with good management procedures.
• Develop and coordinate activities of the equipment maintenance and facility department.
• Review production, quality and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
• Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
• Effectively lead the maintenance staff by coaching, development, and communication, change management, delegating duties, and holding staff accountable. Create a team-oriented environment which motivates staff and keeps employees engaged in their jobs, the Plant, and the company.
• Creates and updates the preventive maintenance program for the facility and all equipment, assigns responsibility to appropriate staff, and keeps daily maintenance checklists on all equipment.
• Plans for and coordinates the installation of new equipment and the removal or movement of current equipment; finds contractors as needed, reviews the contracts and monitors, and approves contractors’ work.
• Responsible for developing and monitoring the maintenance repair and capital improvement budgets.
• Keeps equipment maintained and functioning to meet all production and quality requirements, to include reducing downtime, increasing output, and reducing energy costs.
• Collaborate with the Production team and key employees to effectively plan for scheduled and unscheduled events to maximize time for rebuilds, repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Consistently participate and follow the Plant&39;s Manufacturing Operating System, attend, and contribute to daily and weekly meetings on a regular basis. Contribute to and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Effectively utilize enterprise planning tools to manage the department and maintenance activities.
• Initiate and control cost effective methods of operation for the Plant Maintenance Department.
• Develops safe and well-maintained departmental areas.

Knowledge and Training:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering Discipline or Equivalent Experience preferred.
• Strong familiarity with project management software such as Microsoft Project
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies.
• Ability to confirm to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Adept at conducting research in project related issues and products.
• Experience in maintenance planning and CMMS system a plus
• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of heavy industrial mechanical systems including high pressure hydraulics, furnaces, and grit blasting equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to wear all the required Personal Protective Equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds. when needed.
• Good coordination to operate several controls simultaneously.
• Constantly stand and walk throughout the workday.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Frequently reach with hands and arms; use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel material.
• Constant use hands/fingers to grasp, pinch, pull, feel, or handle and manipulate parts and tools.

Additional Requirement:

US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required due to government military contracts.
