Finance Manager - Outstation Support

The successful candidate will be placed temporarily at any station in the Emirates Group network and manage all the financial and administrative activities for the station in accordance with Corporate Financial and HR policies of EK and local legislation. Provide critical support to AM and other country management team so that (a) decisions are taken with full knowledge and awareness of financial implications and (b) HO can exercise effective financial control over country’s activities.

What you will oversee: 

Accounts Payable

• Ensure procure to pay process is in line with Corporate Guidelines so that contracts are in place, invoices are routed efficiently to the shared services, payments are made timely in accordance with either EK standard payment terms or negotiated timelines
  Relevant KPIs are met


• Support Area Manager in contact negotiations

Accounts Receivables

• Manage credit risk environment including debtors (BSP/CASS/GSA/Agents/Corporate) by continuously proactively analysing, identifying and veering credit risk so that revenues are maximised without jeopardising company receivables


• Represent EK in IATA meetings


• Monitor under collections and ensure timely recovery

Payroll

• Ensure Payroll is processed in line with the local PAM (Pay and Allowances Manual) which should be current at all times


• Payroll taxes where applicable, are settled timely

General Ledger/ Compliance

• All reconciliations are prepared monthly and aged balances can be explained


• Ensure compliance in all areas such as local taxes – VAT, GST, WHT, Payroll and Ticketing Tax


• Keep updated on changes in local taxes impacting the station and take necessary action where required

This role might be for you if you have: 

• A Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) 


• Experience in Finance & Insurance or Systems & Procedures: 8+yrs 


• A recognised professional accounting qualification to the standard of Chartered Accountant, CPA or similar with relevant post qualification experience.

You'll have an edge if you have:

• The ability to function independently providing direction to the team and aligning the section to corporate objectives. 


• Knowledge of airline accounting procedures and familiarity with IATA regulations with regard to Passenger / Cargo / Excess Baggage sales is essential as well as knowledge of rules and procedures under the local laws to take care of statutory requirements as necessary.


• A sound knowledge of systems & automated accounting packages is preferred.
