What Youll Get to DoThe Flight Operations Projects Manager is responsible for developing and overseeing projects within the Flight Operations department. They will actively support the leadership of the Flight Operations department and ensure the group participates in efficiencies and improvements of all applicable Flight Operations functions.Operations:Assist in logistical planning for both scheduled operations and ad-hoc charter operationsIn conjunction with other Flight Ops personnel, maintain and prioritize list of Flight Operations ProjectsIdentify and develop cost saving efficienciesDevelop initiatives to improve quality of product from the Flight Operations DepartmentAssist in crew analysis and pairing developmentComplete assigned Flight Operations Projects on an agreed upon timetableLead in document management of Flight OperationsAssist in collecting feedback from line personnel to identify areas for operational improvementOther duties as assignedFinancial:Assist in department budget managementAdhere to all financial internal controlsActively seek out progressive opportunities for cost reduction in all areas of Flight Operations Safety & Leadership:Change management leader – assist in change while supporting employees through communication, listening and actioningPromote occupational health and safety within your department and participate in the development and monitoring of safety trainingProactively communicate hazards and SMS initiatives with your departmentEmbark on employment equity initiatives; engaging with all employees to promote employment equity and encouraging employees to undertake the self-declaration survey updating as necessaryAll levels of the organization share responsibility for human rights within the organization, overseeing and promoting continuous improvement on human rights and employment equity initiativesCarry out their duties safely within regulatory and company standards, policies, processes, and procedures as trained. Use safety equipment (tools, Proper Protective Equipment etc.) as providedActively identify and report hazards and deficiencies (when in doubt report)Assist in development of company processes and procedures as requiredSkills & Experience We Value Holds or has held the appropriate license and ratings for which a Pilot-in-Command is required to hold for one of the aircraft operatedStrong understanding of the CARs and Flight Time Duty RegulationsOperational knowledge of ATR aircraft considered an assetAcquired not less than 1-year related leadership experience with an operator of a commercial air service whose flight operations are similar in size and scopeDemonstrated knowledge of the content of the operations manual, the air operators certificate and operations specifications, the provision of the regulations and standards necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities to ensure safetyStrong operational knowledgeProven leadership skills (coaching, mentoring, influencer)Proficient with MS OfficeExcellent communication skillsAbility to maintain effective working relationships with all levels in the CompanyTravel requiredMust be able to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Security Clearance qualificationInuktitut language considered an assetPreference will be given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
