Barnes Aerospace has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced P&L Leader to lead its Lansing, MI Division. As General Manager you will play an integral role in leading and directing the team to successfully execute the business goals and objectives to achieve profitable, sustainable growth at the site. Core Responsibilities:

  • Full P&L responsibility for Lansing OEM Site, provide leadership and direction to ensure the successful execution of the annual sales and profit plan. Leads and directs the strategic and tactical activities to drive increased sales for all products and services while maintaining profitability, margins, and the highest standards of customer service/satisfaction. Seeks to expand product offerings with existing customers, helps develop new customers and expand the divisions presence as a strategic supplier of OEM services and solutions.
  • Attracts, develops, and retains qualified, talented people, creating and sustaining a high-performance culture. Organizes the business to execute and deliver results on a consistent basis - the right way, every day.
  • Operates as a strong team builder & leader focused on generating results through collaboration, influence and relationship building as much as direct line authority. Builds a passionate and driven management team that possesses unmatched intensity and professionalism who desires and understands “how to win”.
  • Leads and manages the areas of accountability to achieve short-term and long-term business success and required financial performance, successfully defining, and implementing countermeasure to address headwinds and challenges – planned or unforeseen to deliver on commitments. Plans and directs the overall activities that meets or exceeds established performance metrics including safety and environmental stewardship.
  • In alignment with the Company Core Values, effectively works with peers to enhance the performance of Barnes Aerospace and Barnes overall while promoting the “One Team, One Company, One Barnes” philosophy.
  • Ensures the effective leadership of operating methods, budget spending, manpower/resource utilization and labor efficiency, and material scheduling and capacity planning to achieve quality standards and on-time delivery goals for the customer.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of P&L experience required in an aerospace manufacturing environment, with demonstrated ability to integrate sales, operations, finance, logistics and human resource disciplines to maximize the site P&L performance.
  • At least 8 years of experience of effectively leading and managing people with a proven track record of implementing and successfully executing strategies to build and sustain a high-performance team that consistently delivers on commitments the right way, every day.
  • Demonstrated leadership effectiveness. Must be an effective change leader; balances consistency with flexibility and willing to change ideas in the face of new information. Impeccable integrity; superior interpersonal skills; strong ability to communicate with and present to all levels of the organization. Emotionally intelligent change agent who challenges the status quo and acts with a sense of urgency to drive results.
  • Views opportunities for digitalization/innovation/automation to facilitate continuous improvement and enhancement.
  • Views data analytics as critical to decision-making; and leverages it to formulate plans and execute on them.
  • Demonstrated track record of Program Management, NPI/NPD, and business development experiences.

Education:
  • Preferably, a bachelors degree in business or operations management, engineering, or related discipline.
  • MBA or advanced degree desirable.
