General Services Manager – Broughton
We are recruiting a General Services Manager to join a large, complex operational site based in Broughton. This role supports the delivery of General (Soft) Services across a high‑activity, safety‑critical environment, ensuring services are delivered on time, to the required quality, and within agreed cost parameters.
The General Services Manager will be responsible for managing outsourced service providers, maintaining compliance, controlling operational spend, and working closely with site stakeholders to ensure a safe, efficient, and well‑run site.
Key Responsibilities
The General Services Manager will deliver a broad range of General Services and Facilities responsibilities, including:
- Managing General Services deliverables such as cleaning, catering, grounds maintenance, waste, mailroom, transport, and office services.
- Overseeing and managing multiple outsourced service providers, monitoring performance against KPIs, SLAs, and contractual obligations.
- Ensuring services are delivered to agreed standards of time, cost, quality, and compliance.
- Acting as a key interface between service providers and site stakeholders to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Supporting budget and Opex management, identifying risks and opportunities to meet annual cost targets.
- Attending customer, custodian, and stakeholder review meetings to communicate service activity, gather feedback, and implement required actions.
- Supporting the administration of purchase orders, requisitions, and invoicing in line with internal processes.
- Supporting audits, compliance reviews, and alignment with agreed processes and procedures.
- Providing support to other UK sites where required, including occasional travel.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience managing soft services within Facilities Management or General Services environments.
- Experience working on large industrial and/or mixed office sites.
- Strong background in managing outsourced suppliers and service contracts.
- Stakeholder management experience across multiple levels of an organisation.
- Ability to manage workload independently and deliver to deadlines.
- Awareness of health & safety, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Experience within regulated or controlled environments (e.g. industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, aerospace).
- Clean room or pharmaceutical site experience.
- Awareness of procurement, purchasing, or tender processes.
- Previous experience supporting budget or Opex management.
Additional Information
- Location: Broughton (onsite)
- Hours: 35 hours per week (working 4.5 days between 7am–7pm, hours agreed at business discretion)
- Contract Type: Contract role, likely to be extended
- Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain BPSS+ clearance
