Barnes Motion Control Solutions SBU has an exciting and challenging career opportunity at Barnes for a Global Product Manager. The ideal candidate will drive MCS growth and OP expansion by optimizing the lifecycle for product lines within responsibility, including product strategy and execution, new product introductions, existing product updates, cost out and mature product obsoletions. This role will have the opportunity to lead and engage in cross-functional teams, manage multiple project plans, interpret market needs, create value, and drive results.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Establish the vision and product strategy to drive increased global market share of the product line in alignment with the business global strategy.
  • Develop 3Y product roadmaps for our next generation products with top line, bottom line and investment view.
  • Works outside-in with market data, VoC and analytics to understand and identify key markets and segments, customer applications and assess customer unmet needs. Define what a winning solution looks like
  • Complete competitive analysis for assigned product lines, benchmark of competitors across regions.
  • Establishes sound business cases ensuring continued investment is made in the right projects while also displaying the leadership and courage to recommend when projects should be killed, recycled, or shelved.
  • Coordinate with R&D, Engineering, Sales, Marketing & other cross functional team to ensure all aspects of new products are coordinated for market success. Providing consultative product support and commercial tools to help sales increase market penetration on existing products.
  • Works closely with commercial teams to align go-to-market strategies. Support and monitors products launch success and works with sales and marketing to establish promotional schedules and ensure sales growth.
  • Lead strategic pricing decisions for assigned product lines, per target market, per region.
  • Conduct regular Profitability analysis and evaluation of current product portfolio and suggest actions for margin expansion or SKU exit/ tail cutting.
  • Accountable for product data, ensure data integrity within marketing channels (e.g., website)
  • Identifies, shares, and leverages best practices across the product team and across Barnes where appropriate.
  • Together with R&D develop products in accordance with the Phase Gate process. Act as voice of customer in the project
  • Effectively leverages continuous improvement tools and our BES Barnes Enterprise System in daily work.
  • Acts in alignment with the Barnes Code of Conduct and Business Ethics

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience within principles of Product Management: marketing, product development, pricing, or project management. Global experience a plus.
  • Prior experience in a B2B, industrial environment preferred.
  • A proven track record of implementing and successfully executing strategies in a high-performance work environment.
  • Experience working with connected systems preferred.
  • Prior experience leading a team preferred.
