Health and Safety Manager 

Based in Budapest 

Purpose of the position:

As the Health and Safety Manager, the primary goal is to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive health and safety program across the organization. You will oversee all aspects of the program, working to ensure compliance with regulations, promote a culture of safety, and drive continuous improvement in Health & Safety performance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a strategic plan for the health and safety program, in alignment with organizational objectives and industry standards.
• Identify and assess health and safety risks and hazards and implement appropriate controls and mitigation measures.
• Provide guidance and support to employees on health and safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, standards, and legislative requirements across the network.
• Design and deliver training programs to enhance Health & Safety awareness and competency among employees.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage emergency preparedness and response activities, including fire safety inspections and drills.
• Develop and maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures, and documentation, ensuring consistency and alignment with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate health and safety considerations into business processes and decision-making.
• Monitor and analyze Health & Safety performance metrics and provide regular reports and recommendations for improvement to senior management.
• Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, local authorities, and external partners across the network to promote a positive safety culture.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a managerial role.
• Previous experience in Health & Safety, Program or Project Management is highly advantageous.
• Bachelors degree, preferably in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience in management in a complex organizational environment.
• Previous experience in health & safety, aviation or a related industry is advantageous.

Functional Capabilities & Skills:

• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives effectively.
• Relevant certification or qualification in Occupational Health & Safety would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable in variety of settings and speaking to all levels of employees.
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Willingness to travel frequently.
