Ryanair are currently recruiting for a Heavy Maintenance Manager to join the Engineering Team of Europes largest airline group.

This successful candudate should be an experienced and driven airline engineering professional to support the delivery of out Heavy / Base Maintenance programme across multiple MROs and base locations.

Reporting to the Head of Heavy Maintenance, the Heavy Maintenance Manager will have responsibility for the day‑to‑day management, operational performance, and delivery of Heavy Maintenance checks, while deputising for the Head of Heavy Maintenance as required. With teams and maintenance activity spread across Europe and beyond, regular travel and remote leadership capability are essential.

Based in our Engineering HQ in Dublin, the Heavy Maintenance Manager will also be responsible for:

• Providing leadership and direction to the Heavy Maintenance operational team, including Deputy Managers and remote Technical Representatives.
• Supporting the implementation of departmental strategy, objectives, and performance targets.
• Overall management of the Heavy Maintenance programme, ensuring checks are completed safely, in compliance with regulatory and company requirements, and on time in line with the maintenance plan.
• Ensure contracted maintenance organisations deliver aircraft to the highest airworthiness standards and per contractual requirements.
• Chairing and overseeing daily Heavy Maintenance operational meetings, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of issues, holding supporting departments to account to maintain operational and fleet availability targets.
• Support Ryanair Group Safety, Compliance, and Standards objectives across all Heavy Maintenance activities, and promote a strong safety culture and consistent application of Ryanair Group AOC Safety & Quality procedures per the CAMEs across all MROs.
• Building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal stakeholders (CAMO, Tech Services, Materials, Planning) and external Heavy Maintenance providers.
• Oversight of MRO contractual performance, processes, and adherence to Ryanair technical documentation.
• Supporting base setup, expansion, and transition activities to ensure smooth Heavy Maintenance induction.
• Monitoring Heavy Maintenance costs against budget and identifying risks, efficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery performance, cost control, and standardisation.
• Championing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance cost control, delivery performance, and quality outcomes.

• Proven experience in a Heavy Maintenance or Base Maintenance management role, within an airline, CAMO or Part 145 MRO environment.
• Strong operational understanding of Heavy Maintenance planning, execution, and CAMO interfaces.
• Comprehensive knowledge of applicable aviation regulations (Part CAMO, Part M, Part 145) and SMS principles.
• Experience managing third‑party service providers and remotely leading multi‑site teams.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Willingness and flexibility to travel as required.
• Aircraft Engineering Degree or EASA / UK CAA Aircraft Maintenance Licence preferred.
• Technical knowledge of Boeing 737 preferred, additional experience with Airbus A320 and/or Bombardier Challenger an advantage.
