Wireless connectivity is more and more essential and at the heart of Airbus Digital Transformation delivering an efficient mobile connectivity through new technologies (Wifi6, 5G private network,..) with reduced lead time, and scalability through automated upgrades always integrating security by design. The only way for the infrastructure team to deliver the connectivity on time and on quality is to automatize the activities & use relevant new connectivity solutions.

As Connected Factory IT Operations Specialist, it’s your responsibility to plan, manage, implement and monitor Wireless evolution  and day to day activities. You will lead project management activities to ensure Wireless transformation, according to the service catalog and will manage smooth Entry Into Service of all Wireless connectivity projects  in all Airbus Commercial sites. 

You will also ensure the provision of a secure solution to connect Airbus industrial assets to Airbus network & applications, either via wired or wireless connectivity with the objective of connecting machines and mobile devices to Airbus World, provide easy and flexible deployment with a quick way to get connectivity and protect Airbus production lines.

In addition you will manage Wireless Connectivity support  contracts by guaranteeing that all suppliers provide the necessary means. Airbus business is expecting speed, agility and flexibility when buying/building new applications. You will ensure reliable services to enable business teams to deliver efficient Products via automated and secured solutions. Airbus needs on board people with proven experience on new state of the Art Connectivity technology, i.e. new concepts/ protocols/technologies enabling Digitalization and Flexible Information Management (IM) used by the leading edge Digital companies. You strongly contribute to the transformation of Airbus Digital, by influencing culture change and establishing new ways of working.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You will lead the wireless connectivity operation of the connected factory perimeter in all Airbus plants, in order to manage the IT Product lifecycle by developing the products to meet and improve operational Service Level Agreements

  • You will measure customer satisfaction and care about the definition and go-to-market of the product and service

  • You will ensure that the known product vision is translated into a prioritized product backlog in alignment with the business product owner. 

  • Strongly contributes to the transformation of Airbus Digital, by influencing culture change and establishing new ways of working. Advise and deliver automation or development use cases.

  • You will be able to translate networking requirements for connectivity into an operational solution.

  • Coordination of Level 3 resolution of major operational and service problems, manage all related wireless network crisis cells.

  • You will manage the Connected factory contracts, ensure the fulfillment of the SLAs, lead the operational steering meetings and follow-up the financial control.

  • Continuously optimize the performance of wireless connectivity environments whilst in operation.

  • Ensure Network Cybersecurity and integrity in accordance with Airbus Security Policy.

  • Work with cybersecurity teams to proactively assess risk, fix security issues, and provide policy guidance

  • Identify and promote new ways of automation for deployment, supervision, operations and  remediation to improve the agility and quality

  • Deploying highly available, scalable, maintainable, monitored solutions

Your location

You will be located on the largest site in Spain for aircraft production in Getafe, with access to a Cercanias railway station and a shuttle availability to many areas of Madrid. You will also benefit from a hybrid working culture in a multinational team.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Master Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecom Engineering Information Technology, or relevant field with 3 years of experience

  • You have professional experience in Network Operation / Service management /ITIL.

  • You have the ability to synthesize, structure and vulgarize highly technical topics.

  • You have good stakeholder management skills and interpersonal communication skills  to influence and drive the change.

  • Experienced in working in a transnational environment.

  • Ability to structure collaboration and managing customer expectations

  • Good negotiation, conflict resolution and decision making skills

  • Good organizational and problem solving abilities

  • You are fluent in English as you will work with transnational teams. 

  • If you haven knowledge or experience in some of the following will be considered a plus:

    • ServiceNow experience

    • Background in Networking Technologies (Routing, Switching, Firewalls ..)

    • Knowledge in agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban, Jira…). 

    • Knowledge of any other language (French, Spanish, German)

    • Any additional expertise or knowledge of additional tools/software
