The Position:

Panasonic Avionics (PAC) is a world leader in providing inflight connectivity solutions and services to airlines globally. We are seeking a talented and experienced Product Line Manager to join our team. This role reports directly to the Product Line Director for In-Flight Connectivity (IFC), where you’ll serve as a catalyst for innovation and a go-to specialist in cabin services and commercial strategy. Your focus will span both established Geosynchronous Equatorial Orbit (GEO) and emerging Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite networks, as well as ground-based 5G terrestrial networks. Knowledge of Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) networks is also helpful. Your primary mission involves developing service strategies, including network cost, pricing, and delivery, for our product offerings. You will also develop a Business Support Systems (BSS) catalog for multi-orbit operations and lead new business initiatives through Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFP). In this role, you will concentrate on crafting market strategies and elevating sales performance, while placing a strong emphasis on achieving superior customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in evolving how we support airlines and their passengers through our Customer Performance Center (CPC), enhancing our service offerings and customer experience. This includes working closely with Panasonic’s IFC sales team, while maintaining key partnerships with companies such as OneWeb and supporting our Airbus Airspace Link HBCplus Managed Service Provider (MSP) initiatives. At the nexus of technology and business strategy, you’ll translate and combine technological innovation with business acumen, translating corporate strategies into vibrant roadmaps and action plans.

  • Develop a comprehensive business plan focusing on revenue growth for IFC services.
  • Act as the key liaison for connectivity business support solutions, bridging the Product Line Management (PLM) team with IT and Engineering departments.
  • Direct strategic sessions focused on growth, regional trends, and customer needs, forecasting market opportunities tied to the introduction of technological advancements.
  • Curate a 3-year roadmap focused on LEO, MEO, GEO, and 5G technologies, aligning with corporate strategies that deliver top line new business revenue.
  • Exercise authority in decision-making within the scope of the role, guided by established policies, budget considerations, and business plans.
  • Regularly evaluate and refresh our product line strategies, focusing on enhancing business value through reliable satellite network offerings. This involves ensuring our commitments align with market demands and business objectives, while maintaining high standards of network performance and stability.
  • Assist in conducting Profit and Loss (P&L) reviews for new business ventures, encompassing hardware, services, and support. This task involves close collaboration with finance, business development teams, and the IFC business unit (BU) leaders to ensure comprehensive financial assessment and strategic alignment across all new initiatives.

Strategic Roadmapping and Innovation (30)

This partnership aims to ensure seamless integration of technical and developmental aspects with overall business strategy and timelines.

  • Actively identify and address challenges impacting the product line, focusing on operational and service aspects related to our product offerings. This involves coordinating with technical teams to ensure smooth product delivery and optimal customer satisfaction, while navigating the complexities of network constraints.
  • Develop and implement a refined escalation framework specifically tailored to boost the efficiency of our BSS toolkit. This strategy is dedicated to proactively streamlining operational processes, particularly those influencing system functionality and customer satisfaction. The primary goal is to enhance service delivery effectiveness and expedite responses to operational challenges, ensuring a consistently high-quality customer experience.
