Responsibilities include:

Supervises employees who inspect products to determine compliance with specifications.

Coordinates subordinate employee training, performance assessment, work assignments, and recognition / disciplinary actions.

Understands workflow and daily production requirements.

Plans and directs daily work for inspectors.

Ensures ongoing cross training needs are met.
Supports recruitment and hiring of inspectors

Participates in internal audits affecting the inspection team.

Engages in resolving daily floor issues with production operations working independently with minimal oversight.

Establishes themselves as the go to quality resource for daily decision making.

Integrates with Production team in troubleshooting area quality inspection execution deficiencies / resources.

Monitors daily employee productivity workload and shifts resources appropriately.

Organizes workflow and ensures that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks.

Stay engaged and prepared to stop production for non-conforming products.

Supports daily program meetings.

Maintains good follow-up skills and takes ownership for inspection team.

The successful candidate will have the following attributes and skills:

Has the capability to troubleshoot complex and questionable inspections and make decisions based on customer requirements.

Ability to effectively interact / team with quality, manufacturing and planning and communicate issues to management when needed.

Advanced ability to create Excel, PowerPoint and Word documents.

Ability to learn part numbers and inspection step verbiage working with quality engineering to drive inspection efficiencies.

Ability to work closely with inspection supervision in other work centers to drive inspector cross training between teams.

Ability to work / resolve personnel issues preventing elevation to management.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Ability to manage physically on the floor not through email or Instant Messages (IMs).

Maintain tooling inventory and coordinate calibration priorities
Basic Qualifications:
Completed bachelors degree

6+ years of professional level experience

Must be a U.S. citizen and have the ability to obtain a secret clearance

Demonstrated lead or leadership experience in a
manufacturing environment

Strong prioritization, interpersonal, written, and
verbal communication skills

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Must be able to work weekly weekend overtime
to complete inspection time cards and perform
weekend rotational overtime to support center weekend overtime priorities related to inspection

This is a 4X10 work schedule (Mon-Thursday, 10 hours/day). Must have the ability to report to work at the scheduled start time of 5:00 AM or 6:00 AM

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
