A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Internal Communications Manager to join the team with our prestigious client Thales, this can be worked out of any Thales site around the UK this is a hybrid role 3 days per week on-site.

Job Overview: The Internal Communications Manager for LR8 is responsible for developing and implementing communications activities to enhance internal communication channels, foster employee engagement, and ensure that Thales UK messages reach our employees in an effective and measurable way. The role will work across UK domains and functions as required to support IC priorities. This role requires a proactive approach to creating clear, inspiring, and effective internal communication campaigns that align with Thales’ vision, values, and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Business partnering
  • Provide partnering support with UK functions on key priorities and projects, including HR, HSE and Security – defining IC priorities and joining the dots with other UK wide initiatives as appropriate.
  • Working across the IC team to ensure successful integration with other domain and Thales UK initiatives.
  • Communication planning:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive internal communications plans for UK priorities.
    • Ensure alignment of internal messaging with Thales UK’s overall corporate strategy and objectives.
  • Content Creation and Channel Management:
    • Create, edit, and oversee the production of various communication materials and optimisation of channel performance including Viva Engage, intranet, emails, videos, and presentations.
    • Develop engaging and informative content that resonates with employees at all levels.
  • Campaign Management:
    • Plan and execute communication campaigns to support company initiatives, such as change management, employee engagement, and company updates.
    • Measure the effectiveness of campaigns and adjust strategies and plans as necessary.
  • Employee Engagement:
    • Coordinate and manage internal events, such as town halls, webinars, conferences and employee listening sessions.
    • Gather and analyse feedback from employees to continuously improve communication efforts.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
    • Work closely with External communications, HR, Marketing, and other departments to ensure consistent, integrated messaging.
    • Liaise with senior leadership to align communications with key business priorities and support leadership messaging.
  • Crisis Communication:
    • Develop and implement internal communication plans for crisis situations.
    • Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information during emergencies.
  • Tools and Technology:
    • Utilise various communication tools and platforms to enhance reach and engagement (e.g., Viva Engage, intranet, video conferencing, collaboration software).
    • Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in internal communications technologies.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field or experience (typically 3+ years) in internal communications, corporate communications, or a similar role.

    Desirable Skills:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong project management abilities with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
    • Proficiency in using communication tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, content management systems, social media platforms).
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence at all organizational levels.
    • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Self-motivator and comfortable working with minimal direction
    • Excellent time management skills

    Desirable Experience:

    • Experience in a global organization or technology sector.
    • Knowledge of employee engagement best practices.

    Additional Information:

    • This position may require occasional travel.
    • Flexibility to work outside regular office hours as needed.

    Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance
