The Operations Manager will oversee LIFT Academys training operations, with an emphasis on continuity over the weekends, ensuring smooth and efficient training processes, safety compliance, and optimal utilization of resources. This role supports various verticals, including System Operations Control (SOC), flight training management, safety, auditing, advising, and process flow optimization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

- General Operations:
- Oversee daily training operations and scheduling processes with a focus on maximizing utilization efficiency and adherence to academy policies and procedures.
- Provide proactive mitigation strategies for operational disruptions, ensuring target utilization efficiency and completion rates.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Monitor and enforce adherence to safety regulations and academy policies, promptly reporting any deviations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and coordinate with the safety department to implement corrective actions and enhancements.
- Flight Training Management:
- Manage the scheduling of training events ensuring alignment with instructor availability and student progress requirements.
- Ensure the efficient completion of student advising workflows in coordination with the student advising team.
- Oversee the efficiency of scheduling and completion of checking and assessment events throughout the flight training program.
- Auditing and Quality Control:
- Conduct periodic audits of resource scheduling to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and academy standards.
- Review and optimize training and operational processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Team Management and Development:
- Recruit, train, and manage operational and administrative teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
- Handle escalated customer and staff issues, providing solutions and maintaining high service standards.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Generate comprehensive operational reports for management, highlighting performance metrics and improvement opportunities.
- Effectively present information and respond to queries from management, staff, and external stakeholders.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Efficiency and utilization
Maximize efficient utilization of instructors, students and aircraft while mitigating disruptions to daily operations through the management of front-line scheduling resources. Ensure resource availability internally and externally to eliminate program delays. Proactive assessment of current and future operational threats while proposing effective solutions to meet the performance targets and goals of the organization.
Safety and security
Consistently and reliably ensures that the policies and procedures required at a high security operation are met and reports any deviations from these policies and procedures.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE.0
Associates degree or equivalent experience.
2 years progressive experience in a large flight training institution.
Handles issues and problems of moderate to high complexity and refers appropriate issues to management.
Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter.
Experience generating reports for organization leaders.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in a fast-paced operational environment.
General knowledge of FAA rules and regulations pertaining to flight training and airlines.
Experience recruiting and managing a team of 6-10 employees.
Experience with customer service.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
