About the Role
An exciting opportunity to join the Qatar Airways IT - Technology Services team as Lead Architect Container & Cloud Platforms. This role is expected to oversee container platform management across hybrid cloud environments. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and governing the enterprise-wide containerization strategy. You will provide technical leadership in the adoption of modern container orchestration technologies, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with the organization’s digital transformation goals.
Your duties would include:
Ensure all platform initiatives are aligned with the organization’s overall IT strategy and contribute to the successful delivery of the IT roadmap.
Engages in strategic planning with business and IT stakeholders to provide direction, technology roadmaps, platform design and architecture.
Architect and implement core cloud platform services with a focus on automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code to accelerate application deployment and reduce manual effort.
Make sure platform engineering work supports the company’s overall cloud and digital transformation goals, helping deliver faster results and improving flexibility.
Build security and compliance with the design of containers and cloud platforms to meet company policies and regulatory requirements.
Establish and enforce standards, best practices, and governance frameworks for containerization and cloud platforms.
Provide technical leadership across middleware, container, and cloud environments by collaborating with vendors, internal teams, and external partners.
Lead the adoption of modern container orchestration technologies to drive innovation and enhance platform capabilities.
Ensure platform reliability, performance, and consistency through proactive monitoring, optimization, and incident management.
Maintain business-as-usual (BAU) continuity for middleware, container, and core cloud platforms, supporting Tier 0/1/2 environments in line with defined SLAs.
Manage resources effectively to ensure support coverage aligns with company working hours and operational policies.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture designs and SOPs for cybersecurity threat response and server failure recovery.
Collaborate with the incident management team to ensure compliance with established protocols and procedures.
Stay current with evolving cloud technologies and business needs to support strategic decision-making.
