Aerotek is currently hiring for a Lead Avionics Technician for an aviation maintenance client of ours located in Bloomington, IL

Location: Bloomington, IL

Shift: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift 8:00am–4:30pm

Pay: $35–$40/hr (higher depending on experience)

Aerotek is seeking an experienced Lead Avionics Technician to support a growing maintenance operation working on private jets and general aviation aircraft, including turboprops and Embraer platforms. This role requires advanced knowledge of aircraft airframe systems, avionics, and electronics.

The Lead Avionics Technician will perform hands‑on installation, troubleshooting, electrical repairs, team leadership, and customer interaction. You will oversee project flow, ensure accuracy in documentation, and support a variety of aircraft manufacturers.

Must‑Haves:

• 5+ years of avionics installation experience
• 3+ years of Garmin avionics experience
• Leadership or supervisory experience

Nice‑to‑Haves:

• FCC license
• A&P license

• Clean, remodeled hangar environment
• Can be colder in winter months
• Strong team‑based culture
• Rare weekend requirements

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bloomington, IL.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
