JTP recently added Flight + Cruise packages to JetBlue Vacations and we are excited as this is the only place to purchase a Flight + Cruise package online. We believe we have a unique opportunity to simplify a cruisers’ booking experience by helping Customers find the right flights to get them to their cruise, all while saving on both the flights and the cruise.

The Lead, Cruise Product Development will be responsible for owning the Commercial side of our Flights + Cruise business, including but not limited to Marketing, Positioning, Customer Acquisition, Strategy, Business Partner Management and Performance Monitoring. The ideal candidate is analytical, communicative, responsible, motivated, enjoys working on multiple projects simultaneously from start to completion and is comfortable working on a wide range of initiatives. Projects will include re-positioning our Flights + Cruise product to Customers, working with our Technology team to enhance the online Customer experience, onboarding new cruise partners, developing and executing promotions with our cruise partners, and identifying areas of opportunity to further improve our offering. 

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining solid partnerships based on mutual goals and collaboration.
  • Negotiate rates, promotions, and override agreements with our cruise partners.
  • Monitor and track availability and price competitiveness of all cruise inventory, as well as coordinating with our Pricing Analyst to optimize cruise packages.
  • Responsible for owning the Flights + Cruise strategy in coordination with our Technology team’s roadmap.
  • Responsible for partnering with the Marketing team to generate consumer demand, determine proper positioning, audiences and messaging of the product.
  • Responsible for day-to-day analysis of product performance, with ability to understand what drove performance differences and coming up with next steps to identify or resolve any performance degradation issues.
  • Assist in development and execution of cooperative marketing plans with cruise lines.
  • Work closely with our Technology team and provide input and prioritization feedback of upcoming enhancements.
  • Identify business challenges and opportunities for improvement and seek resolutions and actionable initiatives by using research / data analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations.
  • Inform Commercial cruise partnership strategy and identify potential business partners to support the development, launch, and ongoing operations of new travel products.
  • Communicate to and educate the broader JTP team regularly regarding industry landscape and customer experience / product trends.
  • Work closely with our frontline Customer Care team, listen to calls, gather feedback, assist in improving their sales and services functionalities.
  • Other complex projects and duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field; OR demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of previous relevant work experience.
  • Three (3) years analytical (or related) experience.
  • Ability to develop solid relationships and earn the confidence of others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable presenting ideas in front of large groups including leadership.
  • Ability to act as a meticulously organized, self-directed, and creative problem solver that meets aggressive deadlines by following processes/procedures.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Available for occasional overnight travel (30%)
  • Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States.
  • Able to pass a ten (10) year background check.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located. 
  • Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. 

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline, preferably hospitality, business, and/or marketing.  
  • Four (4) years of experience working in the cruise or other relevant industry.
  • Experience in account management, project management, partnerships, and sales & marketing roles.

 

Crewmember Expectations 

  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice.
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance.
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft.
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun.
